Would You Surrender Guns to the Police IF.........
.........they had a "No Questions Asked" buy-back day in your town, offering $100 per gun?
Here's what I'm thinking: I'll raid the "crappy gun box," consiting of two Lorcin .22's, a Bryco .22, & a Raven .25 -- all old, crappy, and all but useless. I'll turn them in, collect a cool $400, and head right to the gun store to pick up that Ruger Blackhawk I've been wanting.
Is that a plan or what? What a trade. The police essentially will be just giving me a free Blackhawk!!

SOUNDS GOOD TO ME! 0 -
I'd wait for the truly stupid gun buy-backs that pay a rate for toy guns, as well. Then I'd go to the local dime store and buy every water pistol in sight and turn a 10000% profit per "gun".[:D][8D] 0 -
you know they didn't say that they had to be real. 0 -
I don't own a gun I would sell for $100. But, if I did, and they offered, heck yes I would dump some trash for cash. 0 -
Have a Tomcat in my safe - cracked frame - I'd gladly sell for $1.00. 0 -
no 0 -
I don't own any guns worth under $100,
so no.
If I got wind of a buyback ahead of time I would try to aquire some POS guns under $100 and turn a profit0 -
I wouldn't surrender a potato gun to any enforcement agency. 0 -

Tomorrow is our gun buy back and I cobbled together seven long guns (two .22's and four single bbl shotguns) and two old Iver Johnson revolvers.
A buddy who is in law enforcement dropped off a single bbl and a couple of handguns (Iver Johnson auto and a .32 US REVOLVER CO.).
That's $1100. worth of Wal-Mart gift cards! Already planned to get 4 Goodyear tires and some dog food with it.[}:)][8D]0 -
No.
Polite Psycho - email me about your Tomcat, please.
Thanx,

$1100 is a lot of ammo at walmart. Sounds good to me. 0 -
"i don't have a gun" 0 -
Nice hook. The term "surrender" conjures a vastly different scenerio than willingly selling your junk to raise money for new Ruger. 0 -
I would sell anything that I own if I could turn a profit. So I guess that would be a YES (if I had any guns and had less than a $100 in them)[B)] 0 -
Get in line and see what folks are turning in. I'd think you might find a 1911, a Python, Model 19, who knows what treasure you could get off of some crack head for $125.00.[:D][:D][:D][:D]
Now keep in mind you'd be running a risk of ending up with a hot gun but then life is full of risks.0 -

My problem is that I don't have any crappy guns. I got rid of my Lorcin L380 about two years ago.0 -
Yes. I have one that isn't even usable as a paperweight anymore. If I could get $100 for it, I'd do it in a heartbeat. 0 -
I've got a few Jennings 22s that I keep for taking to a gun show if/when I have money to buy a pistol - no wait when you turn in a pistol. They aren't hot, I'd ask $5 credit in trade for 'em. Of course, if there was a $100 buy back around here they'd be there, assuming it was for "free to spend" money/cards, not sports tickets or something else equally useless... 0 -

Consider this. Same as above but trade out good parts for bad parts or strip parts down to the receiver and sell crappy/stripped firearm to buy back program and list good parts on Gunbroker and make even more money.0 -
Not ifn they're handin' out Wal-mart money![xx(][xx(][xx(][}:)][}:)][}:)] 0 -
I don't care for lines, so I don't think so. 0 -
Went to the buyback. Lots more people than they expected. Lots of junk although a cop told me that before I got there, there were a few gems. I got my $1100 worth of Wally world cards and scored one decent buy-a Colt vest pocket .25 for a hundred cash. Old lady didn't want to wait in the line.[:p][:D]
The same cop told me they are doing it again in a month and that there were so many guns, the chief had to write a personal check (or maybe a city check) to cover part of the cards. He also said Homeland Security was going to kick in some juice. Anybody heard of HS doing this? I don't really think they need to be sponsoring this type of thing personally.
Guess I'll start taking the shiite guns in.[;)][:)]0 -
If its cash, id be gettin myself M44's and makeing me some money (yes, i like them, but if i can get double what I had sold...."
