15 yr old girls day of crap must be national event
Mine has been giving me little doses of mess all year long....no report card....her new "boyfriend" has a HICKEY....find she is failing algebra and HAS to make good on a test to pass....search and find three warnings that she can't get to 6th period class on time and has detention tuesday because of that....she has 5 days of in school suspention for skipping snack time and running into the boys bathroom (there is a 17 minute long VIDEO of her hanging out outside this boys bathroom and getting up the nerve to run in and run right back out.) Then she is so VERY smart that she writes her name on the wall of the ISS room and then has to paint the room.
Then today......
I had let her get off the bus with her best friend because I really like this girl and her father....I arrived yesturday to pick her up after work and they all start begging for her to spend the night. The dad is there and I agree to let her stay. I said I would be there in the morning to get her.
I leave for work...and ask my husband to go get her...do you THINK they are there...NOOOOOO. Turns out that the girls had some bright idea to call MY MOTHER (who I love dearly) and they go "out" together. It took us TWO HOURS to find them and we were all furious. The other girl's father had something work related to do and had left at 3 am....he got home at 11:00 am and joined in on the frustrating search for the two of them.
I told my husband....just wait....this is a neverending road of crap ahead. She isn't 17 (which is when I was completely out of control) and it isn't BIG things....just a neverending thing after thing after thing......
I think she will make a great wholesale catalog editor one day.

I would say failing HS classes is a BIG thing. Without HS, there is no COLLEGE, which in this day and age is very important. 0 -
Im sorry ... [V]
Did you show him your gunshop?
If i did that to a girl, or LET her do that, i dont want to THINK about what dad would do.0 -
Its hard to get rid of a boy your daughter likes....I know he will go....it will just take time. For now I have to stay on top of every second of every day and not let up at all until she finds better ways of spending her time.
The algebra is a thing we are working on. She isn't getting away with these grades.....she has been grounded since the last report card and gave us a friends when these last ones came out. She is a good girl (nothing really evil or unthinkable happening) just never ending teeeeedious crap.0 -
God, I can't WAIT for those days! Not. [:0] 0 -
Three things don't sound good about the sleepover. Where was the mother? What about the girlfriend's father's responsibility in this matter by disappearing between 3-11AM and then there's the biggie. Where was your daughter between those hours?
Did the girlfriend's father see his own girlfriend during that period and not want his daughter to be alone then?
Since both girls disappeared for eight hours well into the next day, I question that these girls are appropriate companions for each other.0 -
Tell her you are getting her a piercing and have one of those GPS pet chips implanted under her skin.
You will become a way cool mom and can then track her to the free clinic.[:p] [}:)]

Gettin on your last nerve eh?0 -
I can't wait. My 8 year old daughter is hard-headed, stubborn, and already doing bad in school. I just can't wait. 0 -
I pray I don't have a daughter. Girls are high maintenance to raise. 0 -
Locust your doing a good job of parenting. Never let anyone tell you otherwise. Unfortunately as a parent your going to p1ss your child off from time to time. While try as you may you cannot completly control them, your voice will be in their mind when they think of doing things they know they should not be doing. Looking back, I may not have agreed with all the ass bustings I had when younger at the time, in truth I needed alot more than I got. 0 -

So where is your foot now? 0 -
Break-A-Hartz flea collar for non-approved boyfriends 0 -
Duck Tape and a dark closet. Throw her in there until she's 18, then pull her out, break her plate, bend her fork and spoon, pack her trash and send her on down the road.
Pretty Harsh huh? Those teenage years are as hard on the parents as they are on the teens. When our boys were in their teens, we became the dumbest parents on earth. Luckily our boys never got into big trouble, but the sneaking out, running around, poor grades in school, ect, ect....... Man, I'm glad them days are gone, but it doesn't end there. They are all in their 20's now and their Mom and I still worry about them. The joys of being a parent! [:D][:D]
By the way, Just kidding about the tape and closet thing and throwing her out. Good Luck!0 -
What you need to do for your daughter, needed to happen 10 years ago.
You have lost her.
Cheer up, quit worrying, and go have some fun for yourself.
You aren't getting any younger. Stop the wasted effort.

Print these rules and hand them to any potential "boyfriend". I used to have them read it out loud in front of my daughter. [}:)]
Rule One:
If you pull into my driveway uninvited by me and honk your horn you'd better be delivering a package, because you're sure not picking anything up.
Rule Two:
You do not touch my daughter in front of me. You may glance at her, so long as you do not peer at anything below her neck.
If you cannot keep your eyes or hands off of my daughter's body, I will remove them.
Rule Three:
I am aware that it is considered fashionable for boys of your age to
wear their trousers so loosely that they appear to be falling off their hips. Please don't take this as an insult, but you and all of your friends are complete idiots. Still, I want to be fair and open minded about this issue, so I propose this compromise: You may come to the door with your underwear showing and your pants ten sizes too big, and I will not object. However, in order to ensure that your clothes do not, in fact, come off during the course of your date with my daughter, I will take my electric nail gun and fasten your trousers securely in place to your waist.
Rule Four:
I'm sure you've been told that in today's world, sex without utilizing a "barrier method" of some kind can kill you. Let me elaborate, when it comes to sex, I am the barrier, and I will kill you.
Rule Five:
It is usually understood that in order for us to get to know each other, we should talk about sports, politics, and other issues of the day. Please do not do this. The only information I require from you is an indication of when you expect to have my daughter safely back at my house, and the only word I need from you on this subject is "early."
Rule Six:
I have no doubt you are a popular fellow, with many opportunities to date other girls. This is fine with me as long as it is okay with my
daughter. Otherwise, once you have gone out with my little girl, you
will continue to date no one but her until she is finished with you. If you make her cry, I will make you cry.
Rule Seven:
As you stand in my front hallway, waiting for my daughter to appear, and more than an hour goes by, do not sigh and fidget. If you want to be on time for the movie, you should not be dating. My daughter is putting on her makeup, a process that can take longer than painting the Golden Gate Bridge. Instead of just standing there, why don't you do something useful, like changing the oil in my car?
Rule Eight:
The following places are not appropriate for a date with my daughter:
Places where there are beds, sofas, or anything softer than a wooden
stool. Places where there are no parents, policemen, or nuns within eyesight. Places where there is darkness. Places where there is
dancing, holding hands, or happiness. Places where the ambient temperature is warm enough to induce my daughter to wear shorts, tank
tops, midriff T-shirts, or anything other than overalls, a sweater, and a goose down parka - zipped up to her throat. Movies with a strong romantic or sexual theme are to be avoided; movies which features chain saws are okay. Hockey games are okay. Old folks homes are better.
Rule Nine:
Do not lie to me. I may appear to be a potbellied, balding, middle-aged, dimwitted has-been. But on issues relating to my daughter, I am the all-knowing, merciless god of your universe. If I ask you where you are going and with whom, you have one chance to tell me the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I have a shotgun, a shovel, and five acres behind the house. Do not trifle with me.
Rule Ten:
Be afraid. Be very afraid. It takes very little for me to mistake
the sound of your car in the driveway for a chopper coming in over a
rice paddy near Hanoi. When my Agent Orange starts acting up, the
voices in my head frequently tell me to clean the guns as I wait for you to bring my daughter home. As soon as you pull into the driveway you should exit your car with both hands in plain sight. Speak the perimeter password, announce in a clear voice that you have brought my daughter home safely and early, then return to your car - there is no need for you to come inside.
The camouflaged face at the window is mine.0 -
geeez locust, sounds like you have a tiger by the tail. sounds like she needs a job to make her own money, dont you have something she can do at the shop. let her see the real world. from 15 to 18 are the smartass years in all kids i think . tell that boy if you see any more hickeys , he will see apepoop. best protect her with some form of birth control, and show her effects of stds. some pictures may be available at a health clinic. kids dont think when they know you'll bail them out. cut them off and let them struggle a little , earn their own way.do their own chores, if they fail school they can deal with the embaressment. im sure you have done your best as a mother,if she won't listen cut the apron strings. tough love. regards, l[;)] 0 -
No offense intended, but who are the parents here (you and your husband)? First regain control by using Spider7115's rules, If your husband isn't helping, put a foot in his ass too. Remember that your house is not a Democracy, you should know everything and be in charge of every living breathing thing in your house. Or you could do what my uncle did and turn my cousin over to the courts to raise in the foster home system (yes he was that extreme). Remind her that as far as school goes, if she doesn't want to pass and succeed, the world needs ditch diggers too. 0 -
As a former juvenile delinquent I can attest to the fact that she isn't lost. Keep doing what you are doing. 0 -

I would NEVER give up on my children. Wasted effort? No such animal when it comes to my girls.
Stay on it LOCUST FART!0 -
Better load up on birth control pills for this out-of-control girl. 0 -
sounds like a very normal 15yr old to me,the class she keeps being late too, find out why,,one of my sons had the same problem and it was because of where it was compaired to the class in front of it,,there was no way he had time to leave class,go by his locker and get to the next class on time,he had to start carrying both hours of books with him so he does not have to go by his locker and still just barely can make it on time,,the Algebra,,get her a tutor,,many teens just dont get it,,the boys bathroom sounds like a prank,,bet there were alot of other girls there egging her on,,I mean if she was not in there having sex with a boy,,so what, just because she is a girl does not mean she is not allowed to have fun also, how many of the tight asses in here never done a prank in high school,,girls bathroom,,girls locker room,,or everyones favorite the girls shower "even seen on Porkys the movie",,,the only thing I see I would have to sit down and have a long hard discussion about is the hickey,,,at 15 she is going to make out with the boys,,not anything you or anyone else can do to stop it,,its a natural thing,,she just need to understand the limits on how far to go and yes I would put her on the pill,,,,,,but then again all I raised was boys so what do I know about girls [:o)] 0 -
mat - Please re-read what I said. I never suggested she give up on her, just that she quit worrying about it, because who she (the Daughter) is, already formed, and, you can't take back a fired bullet.
You, of course, I'm sure will never have kids that behave that way, because you will never give up.
I'll buy into what you are saying when you have raised six very successful and well-adjusted Children - as I have.
I think I have qualified "Expert" in this area.
My results are what count.

As Mark Twain said, "When I was 14 my dad was the dumbest person on the face of the earth, but by the time I was 21 he had made remarkable progress". Not verbatum but you get the gist.
Stay on her.0 -
This one is the "hard one" of my three. I know she is GOOD...deep down. Its just the flitty non-caring mess she pulls out of nowhere. She can't really work at the store because it is an hour away and saturday is the only day she could come. Since she isn't where she can drive yet I have a line on a job at a horse farm across the street.
The father of her friend is a single parent. He is a great guy and got a call that he had to fill in for a co-worker at 3am. He had checked on the girls and woke them up to tell them he would be back in a bit. They had NO idea how long he would be gone....so they didn't go anywhere until they woke up that morning and saw he wasn't back. This is when their little tiny 15 year old girl brains started spinning!!! "What can we do....where can we go....who can we call to get what we want RIGHT NOW.....BAM!!!....Grandmama!"
My mother is an "Edith Bunker" type lady with an Auntie Mame attitude. She has a little yellow BMW convertible and wears those giant church lady hats...so you know if she gets a call from two girls wanting her to come get them she is SO there. Without thinking at all about the fact that no parents were there. I can't be mad at her...becasue its like being mad at the kitten hanging from your curtains needing your help to get down. The girls got a big chewing out and are grounded from each other. They can still be the best of friends...and I will go in a bit to get her friend to go to the store with us....but no more are they to be left alone!
That boy.....grrrrr.....somehow my daughter has gotten into trouble so she hasn't been allowed to go and do anything in quite some time.....and knowing her I will be able to keep her in the "grounded" state for quite some time....sOOOoooo....I bet whe will be grounded until THIS GUY is no longer a worry for me.
heh heh heh0 -
As far as not being able to find her, get her a cell phone and tell her if she doesn't answer it anytime you call, she will be grounded to the house for thirty days no exceptions. 0 -
That's one of the things I have done for my Daughters - except I didn't have to treaten them - they knew they needed to answer, and that they had better be where they said they were when I called, 'cause it was very likely that I would shortly show up there.
Besides, a cell phone is an extra layer of protection for a child. "Call me anytime, from anywhere, and I'll come get you, no questions asked".
D.0 -
Her friend has a cell phone...and was grounded from it so she didn't have it. I see a problem with the cell phone also....they can call and get things going 24-7 with a little planning and a few calls. I feel like I am handing her a rope to hang me with.
She could call and tell people where she is and they could leave and do things I wouldn't really want her doing. I don't know....just the worst comes to mind. "Everyones asleep and I'm jumping out of the window right now"....."church just started and my mom won't call me for an hour".....shutter shutter to think of it all.
I had planned on getting her one in about a year.0
