Let us do ANOTHER poll;
With all respect due Mt357..I do not feel his question addresses the problem from the right direction...allowing loopholes Shumer/Hillary/Fiendstein/bush1 AND 2 could ALL pass thru....
The Question;
Does the Second Amendment confer power on the Federal Government to regulate, restrict, force NICS checks on, or pass laws of ANY sort upon guns or gun owners ?
(Note that the above would NOT prevent laws concerning wilfull abuse of or damage caused by stupidity of a gun owner....)
As noted...a simple yes or no will suffice....
My answer, of course....
NO

Bert, I saw and replied to the other poll first. My answer to it was,
Yes, I believe in it the way it was written.
No, I don't believe in it as it is enforced.
I cannot believe that the Supreme Court of this country can allow the unconstitutional applications and laws impeding the second ammendment.[:(!]
Wait a minute, yes I can, they are part of the problem![}:)]0 -

Yes. Big Brother knows whats best and is only looking out for our welfare. What could possibly go wrong? 0 -
The problem is that by having the second amendment, any amendment, the Constitution, The assumption is made that we are subjects to that document. There should be no bill of rights because there should be no presumption that the goverment, any government can assume control of the citizens, other than in furtherance of the governments 3 Jeffersonian duties. The nearest one to guns is Provide for the National Defense, and in that regard, the government should want the citizens to have all the firepower they can muster. 0 -

Fellers...I guess I need to tone down a bit.
The last time I ran this poll...couple years ago..the responses were a...bit different, shall we say ?
Yeppers, Danny...I read your response over there..but really, I knew where you stood, anyway. Self relient, self responsible, standing on your own two feet...THAT, folks, is what America is all about...and I thank every man that responded.
It is not quite as lonely out there as I had thought.0 -
I believe your in the wrong place.. try the gun rights forum. 0 -
You people can't handle the responibility to use the first and second ammendment properly. Free speech needs to be regulated further.
Oh yeah.

The way I read the Bill of Rights they do not, either they don't teach scientists to read properly or they don't teach politicians to read properly 0 -

Considering about .00001% of the public has a desire to own a Stinger or a "Abrhams" tank and the means to actually purchase one, I'd consider this to be a moot point.
Ditto on nuclear missles, which always seem to come up on this discussion0
