I just gave up!!
It's been since the 9th of February since I bought a pack of cigs. I have completed the American Lung Assoc's
smoking cessation program and I am smoke free. My CO2 level is zero now which means my blood is clean from the smoke.[:D][:D]
Not trying to brag or nothing but I am proud that I can take the bull by the horns and go cold turkey without a dangerous drug to do me in![:D]

No bragging there; it's a great thing. One day I hope to be as strong as that.
Congratulations, and STAY STRONG. That one that wont hurt at a party 14 months from now....WILL HURT. I know this from experience.0 -
Good for you, keep it up. 0 -
Good job. Now if you can just give up alcohol and hookers.[:p] 0 -

Good for you... 0 -
also good for you.
My dad just gave (was forced to give) up cigs. He just had a heart valve replacement about one month ago, The doctors told him that if he went back to smoking he would probable not last too long. True or not, that has done the trick for him, at least the last month or so. I just pray he can keep it up.
As with him, I know you have to take it one day at a time. Be strong.0 -
It ain't easy, but stick with it. It does get better, way better. Good luck. 0 -
Congrats man!! I personally have never smoked in my life. Don't really know how, but I guess I have really never had the urge to. Great to hear that you quit and don't look back. Just think of the money you will be able to save for other things instead.

Five years from now if you smoke just one you will be hooked again. Also five years from now you will still have the occasional craving for a cigarette, not strong or not for long but it will be there. I have been off of them for 7 years and 2 months and I could smoke one right now. Hang in there. 0 -
NOW FOR THE BAD NEWS.... you have only prolonged DEATH....Maybe!!!! Tornados, floods, fires, idiot drivers, and of course a-holes with guns (not me, those other a-holes with guns) about enough to make you want to burn one ain't it....... 0 -
Congratulations,I did the same at 11:45 pm. New Years Eve 1985 and have never regretted it. [8D] 0 -

Congratulations on something to really crow about! Good luck on this isue in the future, too! 0 -
WAY TO GO!!!!!
Danger is ahead when the habit comes close to over powering your gains. NEVER smoke again!
Way to go! Smoking is the harderst thing to stop there is.
In two months you will really start to feel the difference.0 -
Nice job, I quit smoking about four years ago now. As I drink pretty regularly I had to lay off drinking for a few months as well to make sure I could hold up. There can be the every so often craving for one, but as time goes by it just gets easier to leave them alone. I will never smoke again, hope it's the same for you. 0 -
I had to quit smoking when the Feds started handing out 5 year sentences to special crop farmers. 0 -
Good going! Spend the extra cash on guns! 0 -
Congrats!
I quit cold turkey about 7 years ago, I still chew these when I get a "urge"
I get them at a "dollar" store[:D] a lot cheaper than smokes[:D]
