Do you boycott certain actors/actresses?
I will not watch anything starring Jane Fonda, Sean Penn, Michael Moore, Alec Baldwin, Danny Glover---too name a few.
Do you boycott particular movies/programs because of viewpoint(s) and/or actions of the celeb's involved?

I am boycotting Barney. I hate purple. Don 0 -
Yes, all the time. Jane Fonda being the worst of them, I was too young for Vietnam but I was in the Army shortly after it ended and I can tell you what she did really hurt the military. 0 -
Yes...I absolutely refuse to have sex with Paris Hilton![8D] 0 -
I don't personally. But my sister does it all the time, based on the littliest of things. From what this one says, to what this one don't say. Too much to keep up with if you ask me. 0 -
only Jane Fonda,
appearing on an enemy military installation during wartime IS TREASON (referring to the AA gun photo of course)
Having a different opinion from our exhalted emperor is on the other hand not a crime, you fascists0 -
I boycott them all.
I will not watch a movie that is starring an actor.0 -

Still having bad memories of the Telly-Tubby incident as well ?0 -
The problem with taking anything any of these people mentioned seriously is that they don't live in the same reality as you and I. Much like infants, they live in a vacuum of self-indulgence and constant adoration, insulated from having to accept any responsibility for any wrongdoing, regardless of whom you offend or what a jerk you are, and as a bonus, a huge paycheck just for breathing, is so out of whack with what is normally considered reasonable, it's understandable, though not fathomable nor agreeable to the general public.
I'm quite sure they could care less whom they offend, after all, any publicity is good publicity, and for every person they alienate, there will be ten people awed by their star status to take their place.
That being said, I don't take anything any of them do too seriously, and I haven't paid to see a movie in 4 years.0 -

Spot-on. Nice post.0 -

Yes. For example, MCI lost my business due to Glover. I stay away from movies with certain people. Anyone that wants to change or abhors my way of life gets no support from me.0 -
T-Mobile lost mine because of Catherine Zeta-Jones. Even though she's no longer their spokesperson, I can't think of T-Mobile without thinking of Zeta-Jones.
I absolutely refuse to see, even on free TV, anything that has any connection with Michael Moore.
I can't stand Danny Glover and I won't see anything that he has anything to do with.
I don't watch anything with Rosie O'Dumbass on it, but that has less to do with her politics and more to do with my desire to retain my eyesight. I'm afraid that if I saw her, my immediate reaction would be to shout, "MY EYES! MY EYES!" and stumble around blind.
The Wife can't stand Shania Twain and will shut off the radio or change the channel if she's on.0 -

Amen, sista! Good post.
As for me, it's hard to keep up with all the loonies in Hollwood. I just don't watch much of anything unless it's really big, and even then if Penn is in it I stay away. He's right up there with Fonda in my book.
And yes KSU everybody is entitled to an opinion, even if it's different from mine, bit that doesn't make them entitled to any of my money.0 -
Good grief no, I cannot imagine their opinions sway anyone or have more validity than my one. They are also not more likely to be correct. I do however avoid the work of actors I don't whose work I don't particularly admire, such as Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Jerry Stiller, Jim Carrie and a few others. 0 -

But... but... but... they're all BOX OFFICE HEROES. You have to like them. You must. It is commanded to you by Lord Steven Spielberg. He says so. So he says it so it shall be done. And stuff like that. Yeah.0 -

When I was a kid and went to the matinee every Saturday I thought that way too. Now that movies don't cost $.15 I gotta be a little more discriminating. You are young, but very bright, you too will learn grasshopper.0 -

LOL. I see a lot of movies, but only ones I want to see. And, FWIW, they normally don't star any of the overrated actors you mention.0 -
Watching a movie or TV is a escape from reality. Studios spend millions on props ect. to make all believeable. When they use a actor like Sean Penn in a movie, to me, it is like injecting Sean Penn's political life into the movie. For me I don't have the temptation to see any movies by actors like Sean Penn or Jane Fonda. I wouldn't be able to enjoy them because their acting is not good enough to take me away from their politics to the movie plot. 0 -
