In all honesty I have never never met a texan who was straight forward and blunt..

That's because you meet them in other states. That should tell you something. We ran them out of Texas, now they're just misfits![}:)]

Texas & Texans arent as bad as that. Its a big state with alot of good folks.Florida on the otherhand is America's p-trap. When the s**t get flushed sometimes the big ones get jammed up on their way out and they usually end up somewhere on that peninsula.

I been there 5 years, and being in a new environment, I was paying attention.

seems like 1/3 are straight shootin' good folk, 1/3 are damn liars, and the rest are somewhere in between.

I hope he doesn't move here. If he doesn't like us he can stay put. I'm sick of people moving here from other states and b*tching and whining about something here.

Well see, Texas got corrupted.Staring back in the 1970's when we had virtual INVASION of yankee's. I'd bet that's where most of the liars came from.

nooo, I don't think so. it is true that the few ppl I met most full of BS were in Texas. I just figured they were on the extreme end of the BS spectrum.

BS artists can thrive in Texas because so much goes on there and anything can happen there, you see it all. you can say anything and it could be true. so some of them take advantage of that. I don't see how that makes the rest of the ppl there look bad. just, there's all kinds of people there and it goes to the extremes.

Amen, if where they came from was so great why did they leave? I wish Texas was a dump, then us real Texans could have it all to ourselves and not have to deal with the subdivisions and mini malls popping up literally every hundered yards. I will say it again, at our current pace Texas will be like California in 10-15 years[V].............

That wouldn't hurt my feelings. With more people come higher housing prices and I can sell my house and retire off in the woods up north. [:D]

Zip - that is an interesting post. Intersting, in that a guy with that mentality would be a moderator somewhere. Guess you really can find anything on the web. Let me know which site it is and i will avoid it, as I can't stand an idiot....

Couldn't agree with the rant any more. And I certainly, "beg to differ" with anyone who disagrees. In all the 50+ years that I've been collecting guns, I've only been ripped off three times and every time the jerk who ripped me off was from Texas. I know the old saying about "fool me once...." but I just can't see killing somebody over such a relatively small amount. Consequently, the more reasonable alternative is the resolution that I WILL NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANYONE FROM TEXAS.

PS. Hey, Kodiakk, I'm surprised that some one of your intelligence and ancestry could use a big word like "conspiracy," much less know what it means. No, it's not a "conspiracy," and no I don't "hate" Texans; it's just a pattern. When every contact you have with a group of people indicates that they are lying, thieving, low-lifes, as Kodiakk has confirmed once again with his behavior, the rational conclusion is simply to avoid that group of people.

Oh, I know the site but I covered it because it doesn't directly relate to us - it's a regional gun site. If you were a member there you'd know about it already - it's a big site.

It's a conspiracy. We Texans are plotting to rip you off in a joint effort. Seriously you need to get a clue. [|)]

The population of Texas is about 23.5 million. 3 isn't a very large sample size. Your p value isn't too high on that doc....

Being from Texas - which does not really matter - but, most of the people I know from there know their manners and show respect when they are supposed to. It restores my faith a bit when I see my 17 year old hold a door for an elderly couple or even his Mom, and knows to say "Yes Mam" and "Yes Sir" when he should. That came from Texas - Not up here in the North West.

I was not born in Texas ---- But I got here as soon as I could. I love Texas and Texans. Sure there are a few a-holes here --- like any other place, but Texans, in general, are friendly honest truthful persons. Neighboring states do not like us (I am originally from one of them), except when we travel over there to spend money. They would rather that we just mail it to them. But without the influx of $$$ from Texas, NM would be even poorer.

Texans, at least those outside the big cities, generally are more like southern folks. Hospitable, careful with their words, unlikely to offend with offhanded comments, respectful ---- But willing to stand up for what they believe.

I am proud to be a Texan. Have a good friend from Ohio who says, "you d### Texans think you need a passport just to cross the state line." My response is, "Why would you want to cross the state line, everything is here."
