Where were you ............... ?
When President Kennedy was shot?
I was chatting to my mum, in the hall of our house, when my sister came in and said "President kennedys been shot!"
Any one else remember?
Proberly a forlorn hope, but lets not have any of the conspiracy theories here, start your own thread!

Sitting in fourth grade class room in Hall Summit, LA--we were called to the auditorium where our principal held a small transistor radio up to the microphone so all could hear the reports from Dallas. It was on the day we were dismissed for Thanksgiving holidays. 0 -
I was a college freshman just returning to my dorm from an Engineering Drafting class. A big group of students was gathered in the lounge watching the special TV broadcast, so I joined them and was told the news. 0 -
I was 4 years old and still can remember the grown ups talking about it in a small community grocery store in Hudson, Il. I remember watching the funeral on TV even better. Good old black and white TV's. 0 -

I was in Mrs. Wiggins' fifth grade class at William Lipscomb Elementary School in Dallas. Only about half the kids were in school that day, the rest being downtown to watch the motorcade with their mothers. (In those days, most mothers didn't work.)
My mother did work, so I was in school. Another teacher came to our door, and called Mrs. Wiggins into the hall. When she returned, she was visibly shaken, and told us that President Kennedy had been shot. We were all 10-11 years old, and not really able to grasp what we had been told.
A bit later, the principal made a PA announcement and told us that President Kennedy had died.0 -
in the 7th grade at school 0 -
1st grade, I don't recall the school making any announcement, we were dismissed at our normal time, I remember the older class kids talking about it, the guys were talking about going to war, the girls were crying. I did not realize what was going on, or the gravity of it, untill I got home, talked to my family, and watched the events on TV.

I was in the fourth grade and we were in line marching out at the end of school for the day.
Typical catholic school...marching!
We were going past the rectory and one of the old geezer priests yelled out the window that the president has been shot and that the teacher should march us into the church to pray.
I remember that day like it was yesterday. Miss Beltz was the teacher and Fr. Maguire was the geezer.0 -
I was on Guam, at home on the base at NAS Agana, just getting ready to fly to Viet-nam on deployment. I hadn't even heard of Nam before then. 0 -
I was in Fifth Grade, for the SECOND time!!! In Occoquan, VA.
I remember the odd look on my teacher's face when she kinda stumbled into the room. She didn't say what the problem was, but we were all herded to get our coats and lunchboxes, and then to the buses. I remember sitting in front of the Black and white TV, watching the funeral procession, the sparse drumbeat, the sound of the rigging on the horses. John-John saluting, and the kinda numb stoic way that Jacqueline moved and seemed.0 -

First grade. I remember a bunch of people crying - teachers and students. I don't know that we really understood exactly what had happened, but we knew he was the President and it was bad.
I wonder what first graders would think today?0 -
