What was your school mascot?
In high school we were the Huskers. Not the Corn Huskers, just the Huskers. Good name for a rural high school, but no actual mascot. I can't tell you what a Husker looks like. Big ear of corn???

"why is it" that indian school mascots are getting snubbed, but there's no problem with naming an attack chopper an Apache or a Comanche??

When Eaton (Colorado) High School was forced to become PC, the Denver Fox Radio Station morning team (Lewis & Floorwax) humbly submitted "The Beavers" as their idea of a mascot. 0 -

Monmouth IL used to be the home of the Zippers. They has a big smiley face on the bleachers. They changed it to something meaningless.
Pekin Il was once called "The Chinks" as a tribute to Peking CHina. They renamed it to the Dragons. Boring.
The grandson of the Indian that gave the costume and head gear to the Fighting Illini has formall asked for it back. INDIAN GIVER!!!!!!
