School Mascots

What was your school mascot?

In high school we were the Huskers. Not the Corn Huskers, just the Huskers. Good name for a rural high school, but no actual mascot. I can't tell you what a Husker looks like. Big ear of corn???

    We were The Raiders. We had a roman-type guy with the Marvin The Martian hat charging with his sword.

    A husker husks husks. So, it would look like an ordinary corn farmer. Probably not that impressive looking or intimidating, unless he was holding a shotgun at you and convincing you it was a good idea to marry the daughter you just defiled.

    Dragons. We had a great coat of arms as our symbol.

    We were the Chiefs. I believe that they had to recently change the logo though.

    We were the lakers. The name came from living around a large lake, but the mascot was an Indian.

    I'd imagine they don't spend a fortune on the mascot's costume.

    Junior College was the Wolves. Yawn...Who cares?
    College was the Salukis. Good word...but an ugly ice cream of a dog.

    High School: Indians, with a chief as Mascot. The lower grades use a brave as the school Mascot.

    Collage: was the Trojans, with a Gladiator as Mascot. It's now the Thunder, how can a sound be a Mascot [?] [V]

    High School--Raiders (some swishy pirate as a mascot)
    year after I left--Jaguars

    I actually went to school for one year in Jr. High in Gillette Wyoming and we were the Gillette CAMELS....never did see a camel the whole time I was there[:D][8D]

    Mine was the "Criminals". So named because long ago when the high school burned down, classes were held in the territorial prison until a new one could be built. Thereafter the students were nicknamed "criminals" and it stuck.

    High school was the "Mariners"
    College UNC's Rameses

    High school was the Indians...had a big stupid debate about changing the mascot but the PC crowd lost. Turns out the team was re-named in honor of a football coach way back when, he was Native American.


    KSU is naturally the Wildcats

    University of Illinois - the Fighting Illini & Chief Iliniwek ... he has gone the way of all sports indian mascots ... bummer ... tough to be pc!
