i think and hope i made my point, i find it very unchristian like, and very distasteful to condemn another mans religion, especially when you are not as educated about as you think, and a even bigger lesson that this is coming from me A NON BELIEVER, as i stated many times in the past i respect every ones religion, and not just because it is in the constitution, i just wish more Christians did the same, but every religion ever known all know there is only one god and that is who ever THEY believe, and no one has a right to believe any diferent

    Who condemned who?
All I saw was bible quotes.
If the Bible condemns someones religion don't blame people. Blame God.

We have all said that everyone has a right to believe whatever they want to. Mormons disagree with Christian doctrine, and thats O.K. They have a right to disagree with Christians. And by the same token I have a right to disagree with what they teach. There is no malevolence towards them personally, I simple do not agree.

The differences in religion are seen much more in the details, dogma, doctrine, practice and eschatological matters, than in their adherents' apparent manner of life before the world. Supposedly, all religions should be opposed to the world and the ways of the world. Else why bother with religion at all?

And yes, Christianity has its full quota of bad apples, while the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Seventh Day Adventists (with notable exceptions such as David Koresh) and others have many disciples who would put most church-going people to shame, insofar as honesty, being nice, being readily able to explain their doctrine, and so far are concerned. Fact is, in my life, some of the best people I've known come from 'religions' that are inimical to biblical Christianity. And too though, some of the other best people I've known have been bikers, druggies, drunkards and deadbeats. I've known drug dealers who would give you the shirt off their backs, while Christian brothers would simply look away, embarrassed if you approached them needing a shirt.

And while we condemn the strength of the Muslims' convictions, we should wish that we too could believe strongly enough to go to our own deaths....but my word! We don't have convictions enough to read the book, much less allow it to cost us anything important.

Jesus said something very interesting. He said, "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, AND HIS OWN LIFE ALSO, he cannot be my disciple". Luke 14:26

No, the Lord isn't saying that you must hate your parents, or your spouse, but that the love and consecration, dedication and commitment you have for Him, should make the love you have for your children, wife, parents and so forth, seem to be hate when held in comparison.

It's a funny kind of hypocrisy when we condemn Muslims for the high degree of their faith, while ours is so slight and seldom rises above the definition of 'minimal'.

And what makes it even sadder, is that they are wrong. And we, many of us in Christianity, are right. So what's wrong with this picture?

Rainguage: givette here. The Church of England was created by the bishops and high-priests that sided with king Henry VIII in the early '15th when the king renounced the pope's decree that he wouldn't be granted a papal dispensation (granted a divorce from Catherine of Arragon). The king was ex-communicated by Rome. The king's political cronies in high church office, most of which remained loyal to the king amended canon law so as to divest themselves from anything resembling papal fiat. Thus, Anglicanism was born.

    I believe in GOD.

With no intended offense to anyone, the rest of the stuff is filler material to me. Weather it be Catholic, Mormon, Baptist, SDA, etc.

My personal Church of K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple stupid) has ten rules.

Ok guys, you want to know what mormons believe. Here`s something I found out, first hand experience. I came down with a mysterious ailment, long story semi-short, was transfered from hospital to hospital, ended up in UAB birmingham. They found I had a growth, a tumor, inoperable because of it`s location in my skull behind my eyes. Started treatments, was to be treated twice a week when I was released. I was visited in the hospital by the subject of our discussion here, a genuine Mormon. I had recently joined The Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter Day Saints myself. Was there anything I needed? Well, yes, the pillow here is lke concrete, the food is awful...also a priesthood blessing to heal the sick. I recieved the blessing; next day they brought me a real pillow and basket of fruit and real food. My car was broken down in the parking garage downstairs. I couldn`t pay the parking fee, much less repairs. This man and his sons got my car form the garage and checked it out. Repairs would involve pulling the engine. They did the work and bought the parts.. would not hear of us paying them anything. They arranged for me to check out of the hospital and visit them in their home where we had a feast of every imaginable goody including homemade ice cream. in a week or so I was called into the doctors office there in uab. They were dismissing me. What about the tumor? the doctor said.` it`s gone. We don`t know where it went but we`ll take the credit for it.`So, time to check out. My wife had returned to work in our now repaired car.. my friend would not hear of me calling her to come for me. He took me around my discharge stops, took me to lunch on him, then drove me home 300+ miles. So, prayers, spiritual blessings, food, shelter, and finally a miracle healing. My experience with spiritual knowledge is a firm in my mind and heart as is this experience with a true man of God. Don`t tell me how wierd my faith is. I have felt the presence of God and seen His angels. It will always be my testimony.. in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Just a little levity and friendly banter. [:D][:p] You were in good hands and were very blessed. [:)]

Would it really make a difference to keep posting scripture?

I have posted scripture for other question only for the questioneer to jump onto the next set of questions with no comment on their last question.
There is no dialogue just jumping from one question to the next.
    Will it ever prove anything?

The scripture to a Christian is the Authoritive answer. Not what the nieghbor did for goodwill.
Salvation only comes from the Lord. Not what many niceties that can be made by humans.
Those make life more pleasant, but they will not save you.

I don't believe some of you. If you were half the Christian you pretend to be, you would know enough to keep your fingers off the keys. I sure hope God has a sense of humor because that is the best you have going for you.

"Would it really make a difference to keep posting scripture?"

Probably not....but if the scripture mirrors your belief, or opinion, or understanding, isn't it best to do so?

Good book says, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Isaiah 55:1

    That ought to be enough.

Thanks Ladyhhunter. This should be the basic teaching of any religion. As a Mormon myself, I believe in the Jesus Christ, He lives, He is the Son of God, our Devine Redeemer, He died on the cross for each and everyone of us. We are only asked to believe Him and accept Him. I may believe that the God head are 3 separet individuals with one purpose, (which is getting all mankind to believe in God and accept Christ as the Devine Son of God and our Lord and as the Savior of the world) and not the Trinity as other Christins believe, (which is getting all mankind to believe in God and accept Christ as the Devine Son of God and our Lord and Savior of the world).

As for all the quotes and referances give, I see that all come from sites that promote dislike of the Mormon faith.

So as for me, I will stay with this religon as it teaches me to love the Lord, believe in Him and His teachings. I will stay with this church that teaches me to try and live my life as Christ lived His. I will continue to believe in the family values we teach, and love and protect this country and the freedoms GOD has given me.

If Christianity promised 17 virgins, and who knows what else after death like Islam does, then you would see more Christians driving suicide car bombs into their neighbors homes.

Let's just hope we never get to that point as Christians. I'd settle for a little less devotion as opposed to going way overboard the other way.

"I may believe that the God head are 3 separet individuals with one purpose".

I and most all of Christianity must disagree with you. Instead of three separate individuals composing the godhead, there is One God, manifested in three different persons.

Look at scripture (I won't be using anything from the Book of Mormon, since I lost my copy years ago, but had pretty much got everything I could from it anyway)....

"And JESUS answered him, The first of all the commandments is Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God IS ONE LORD...." Mark 12:29

"In the beginning was the Word, and Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD." John 1:1

"And the WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:14. Note here that Jesus isn't said to be one god among three, as you've said, but instead, is that one God, manifested as man.

But that so many stumble upon that stumblingstone isn't to be marveled at, for it's been the cross that heretics have born for two thousands of years. So yes, it's a mystery to those without ears to hear, or eyes to see.

Check this final one out...."And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was MANIFEST in the FLESH, justified in the SPIRIT, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." 1 Timothy 3:16.

Who was manifested in the flesh? Who was justified in the spirit? Who was seen of angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world? Who was received up into glory?

It was GOD, manifested as the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Need more, much more? Give me a shout....

I have known many Mormons, and they are good and honorable folk (much like the majority of Christians, Hindus, Jews, and yes -- even Muslims I have known over the years). But if you ask me to take off my Secular hat and put on my Spiritual hat, I must say that Mormonism is considered a cult because its beliefs go far outside of the Nicene Creed that typically defines Christianity. So far that they seem to take the name of Jesus but worship a completely different person. I am not being judgement or accusatory, but am answering the question you asked.

I have also known a few ex-Mormons, and they can be interesting to visit with. I am not here to bash one church over another, but it is important to understand that God expects us to search Him out. And He expects us to get it right. There WILL be a test later!
