I'd be to nervous if it was a person in a costume. If there was someway I could be completely sure it was Bigfoot I'd take the poaching charge to prove he's real.

I'm not going to eat it, so unless I felt in danger, I would just watch it and keep the story to myself. I don't care what people do and don't believe, so it would be my little secret.

There was an episode of "CSI" like that - guy was dressed in a bunny costume and some hunter shot him at night thinking he was a long-eared bear!

Back when Art Bell was going strong he had a couple of Viet Nam Vets on his show who claimed to had shot 2 bigfoots while out hunting.
It was a great story. I wish I could find the story and post it here.
Apparently they shot the male bigfoot and a female bigfoot drug it into some deep brush and they shot her too. Now they had two dead bigfoot on their hands and they claimed that being fresh back from Nam they felt they would be accused of murder so they never told their story until sometime in the 90's.

first, there'd be a big ta-do about it. i doubt i'd be yelled at for it being an endangered species. i'd make a lot of money from the scientific community and have his pelt turned into a guilley suit.

ok, i wouldn't do any of that. i'd actually not shoot him. it's too cool to kill.

Unless threatened, only an idiot would shoot a bigfoot. We don't even know what the hell they would be classifed as. Homo what? What if it is a distant branch of Homo Sapian that has somehow survived unchanged due to geographic isolation?
From all accounts, it appears more intelligent than any primate now known.
If they do exist, eventually one, or the body of one, will be discovered and examined.

See the documentary "Harry and the Hendersons" for more information.[:D]

Just got done listening to the Art Bell interview. Being from Oregon I naturally love a good bigfoot story. [:D]

I spent a huge amount of time up in the coastal mountains in Oregon and up out of Juneau in Alaska and never saw nothing though.

Lets see, I'm out hunting and this big hairy beast comes charging at me while it screamed like a banshee, with drool dripping off from it's fangs it kept getting closer and closer. I finally would have no other choice but to shoot it.

And that is just how I would tell my story.

If there is a bigfoot he meets the definition of human. That's why I wouldn't shoot him except in self defense. A good cover story would likely be believed, but I would know.
