What if you killed a Bigfoot
Okay weather or not they exist is not the question.
But just say they do, you were out hunting and came across one.
And in a instant decision decided to shoot it and put an end to all the myth.
Do you think you would be busted for poaching? Busted for killing and endangerd species? Or possibly charged with murder?
Or would you be a honerd as the man who proved that bigfoot exists?
Read a few post lately that just got me a wondering what would happen?
Thought Id ask just for something to do?[:D]

Just got done listening to the Art Bell interview. Being from Oregon I naturally love a good bigfoot story. [:D]
I spent a huge amount of time up in the coastal mountains in Oregon and up out of Juneau in Alaska and never saw nothing though.
That's a good interview. Now i'm not saying i believe him without question, but i don't detect any obvious problems with his story. He sounds honest. Makes for a great bigfoot stroy
And the fact that his hunting buddy is named "Bird Dog" is a priceless extra bonus to the story lol.0 -
I'd shoot it then boil the skeleton and sell it on Ebay.
Afterwards I'd write a book on the story and also have income from movie rights.
At that point who cares about a few years in jail? You'd be swimming in money.0 -
Chances of me shooting a Bigfoot would be zero...[:)][:)] Not only because of the fact that I was taught from the very second my dad let me touch a gun to make certain I knew what I was shooting at, but the fact that I have prowled the Northern California backwoods and southern Oregon country for a long time and haven't been abducted by one yet. [:D][:D] Never heard one scream in the night. Never smelled any obnoctious odors, other then my hunting partners bean or nacho farts, of course. [}:)][;)] Never seen any tracks other then bear tracks and I have seen some awfully big ones, I might add.
I've camped in the very spot that Patterson took the famous film, or as close as I thought I could come too.

All this has brought me to one conclusion....Do I believe in Bigfoot?
I don't know.. I'd like to. [:0][:0] I only know that I would know more shoot one then fly. It wouldn't be in me to do that. I was raised better then that.......[:)][:)][:D][:D]

BigFoot is way to elusive to be taken that way. If you could build a clever enough trap maybe... But with all the mentioned legal complications, I would stick to Wendigo hunting. 0 -
listening to art bell

I would shoot it with my Canon.

That can't be a Bigfoot. Everyone knows Bigfoot doesn't drink coffee or smoke cigarettes.0 -

Need a smiley for laughing out loud.
Seriously, though, unless the thing threatened me to the point I had to kill it -- same as with a bear, a cougar, a wolf, whatever -- I'd leave it alone. Same with its cousin the Abominable Snowman, and that maybe-dinosaur or giant slug called the Loch Ness Monster, and the rumored Brontosaurus (I think it's actually called an Apatosaurus, now....) either down in South America or in the Congo. More than any money I might make off the story (and the corpse), even if I didn't get in trouble -- I like the idea of something left in the world that we just flat-out know nothing about. I'd keep it to myself and let the world go on wondering.
I just realized the original question was what would happen if one did shoot the creature -- not whether or not I would.
That I don't know. Between PETA, the ACLU, the comic duo of Jackson and Sharpton, Hillary, Rosie O'Donnell, and Greenpeace, though, something bad would have to come of it.0 -
First, i'd try to bait him in with Neese's pork sausage (a local delicacy here in the Piedmont of North Carolina) and biscuits with gravy. After he enjoyed the breakfast feast i prepared for him, i would try to establish a dialogue with him. I would take him home, and he would be a pet for my kids. How many other kids have a Sasquatch for a pet. They'd be a hit at school. Of course, i'd have to stock up on Neese's sausage and biscuits/gravy, because he would quickly become addicted to it as i have. We'd eat it all the time. I'd have to remodel my house because of his size, and I would get him to help me with the grunt work. I'd pay him with Neese's sausage and biscuits/gravy. I'd teach him of the outdoors; how to hunt and fish, we'd go camping, and have Neese's sausage and biscuits/gravy for breakfast. Of course, you can't hide a Sasquatch forever. Neighbors would start to notice the hairy beast you are harboring in your residence. It would raise eyebrows. I would try to keep the neighbors quiet, by bribing them with Neese's sausage and biscuits/gravy, but probably without success. PETA would eventually find out about my new found friend. They would come, and try to take him, claiming he is on the endangered species list, and needs to be in the wild. But why would he want to go back into the wild, where there's no heating, A/C, or Neese's sausage with biscuits/gravy? No, they would wait until I was away at work. They would take him by means of a tranquilizer. They would have him studied by biologists. When they find him to be suffering from Coronary Artery Disease, caused by too many meals of Neese's sausage and biscuits/gravy, I would be arrested, charged, and convicted of cruelty to animals. 0 -

But we could all rest easy, then, knowing he had been "saved" from a life of shelter, relative ease, and Neese's sausage with biscuits and gravy.
I get the impression you like NSw/B&G.0 -
You couldn't get busted for poaching because there is no "season" on Bigfoot. You couldn't get busted for killing an endangered species, because he is not listed as one. You couldn't get charged w/ murder, because he is not human (unless its a human in a Bigfoot suit.)
Sooo, the only thing left is to be honored for solving the myth.[:D]0 -
I could be mistaken, but I think one of the things which defines a human is an opposable thumb and a big toe which lies alongside the other four toes. According to everything I've seen on the National Geographic Channel that would make him a human. The other primates got it half right. They have the opposable thumb, but they also have the opposable big toe, so no murder charge. I'm afraid if you kill a "Big Foot", you've been screwed by his "Big Toe". [:D] 0 -

mat....they may not be listed as endangered, but the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have recognized them as real enough in 1975 enough to do this..... http://www.qsl.net/w5www/bigfoot.html [:)][:)]

^^Real 911 call of a guy seeing Bigfoot.[:D]0 -
I guess we got to get this straigh. I live in the only county in the country that has an ordinance against harming Bigfoot, it is punishable by $100,000.00 fine and an uncertain amount of jail time. So, nobody here in the shadow of Mt St Helens bothers the ol boy, and we forward his mail when he goes south in the winter. Neighbors taking care of nieghbors.

I'd only shoot him ifn he was steeling my telebision...I worked hard for that TB. 0 -

Since the stories of Bigfoot have been around for hundreds of years, why has a corpse, skeleton or even bones never been found? 0 -

Pretty hard to find a bear skeleton in the woods also that died naturally and there are supposedly alot more of them. They said they found hair and it wasn't human after testing however humaniod.
Damnit he's real! [:D]0
