High School Bans American Flag

SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. - On the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, students at one high school were not allowed to wear clothes with an American flag.
Under a new school rule, students at Hobbton High School are not allowed to wear items with flags, from any country, including the United States.
The new rule stems from a controversy over students wearing shirts bearing flags of other countries.
Gayle Langston said her daughter, Jessica, was told to remove her Stars and Stripes t-shirt.
"Today she wanted to wear her shirt, and I had to tell her no," said Langston. "She didn't like it at all because I knew it would get her in trouble. Of all days, 9/11, she could not wear her American Flag shirt."
The superintendent of schools in Sampson County calls the situation unfortunate, but says educators didn't want to be forced to pick and choose which flags should be permissible.

It's a free speech issue, and to me, it's just as important as the freedom to keep and bear arms.
I've said this before and I'll say it again: I absolutely do not understand why those who are passionate about the first amendment get along so poorly with those who are passionate about the second amendment, and vice versa*. They're the FIRST TWO FREAKING AMENDMENTS in our Bill of Rights! How can you support one and not the other?

The ACLU has never and is currently never interested in protecting your rights. The are a Commie organization bent on a left wing agenda leading to chaos. Just look at their agenda and their history.0 -
In Australia, almost all state and private schools have mandatory uniform requirements, so stuff like this is never brought up. However, in the leadup to the "Big Day Out", something similar did happen... From Wikipedia:
On 21 January 2007 a decision was made by the organisers to discourage Big Day Out patrons in Sydney from bringing and displaying the Australian flag. The organisers said the decision was a result of recent ethno-religious tensions in Sydney, complaints that the previous year's festival had been marred by roving packs of aggressive flag-draped youths, and recognition that some indigenous Australians have issue with celebrating the start of British settlement.
Sections of the community had strong views supporting or objecting to the policy. The Prime Minister John Howard, New South Wales Premier Morris Iemma and Federal Leader of the Opposition Kevin Rudd publicly condemned the move. Premier Iemma suggested the event be canceled if the organisers cannot secure the safety of attendees. Main stage act Jet performed in front of a large backdrop of a black-and-white Australian flag cut-out of their name, with lead vocalist Nic Cester adding "I can't tell anyone else what to do but we as a band are very proud to be Australian and we don't want to feel we are not allowed to feel proud".
However, other people including Andrew Bartlett of the Australian Democrats, sports writer Peter FitzSimons and members of the hip-hop outfit The Herd expressed concern that the flag was being misused by a handful of aggressive attendees, and that rock concerts were not the appropriate venue to be waving a flag.0 -

We might not be making any progress as a society, but we are making good time!
In the 1960's it was ILLEGAL to wear the Flag as clothing. The State Statutes were overturned by the US Supreme Court making it legal to wear the flag as clothing. Now School Systems are outlawing the wearing of ANY Flag.
It seems that we have come full circle. Maybe we'll get it right next time.0 -

My previous post pretty much covers it. The school officials are throwing out a red herring to the unsuspecting with their reason that focuses on flags from other countries response. This, most likely in hopes that folks will think Mexican Flag instead of the Battle Flag of the Confederacy.
The secular-progressive attack on American heritage with the Confederate Flag being their Number 1 target has snowballed into having the American Flag being their next target. If you know anything about the racist Julian Bond and his Anti-American contempt, and for likening both symbols to the Nazi Flag, then you know where the NAACP and their Handlers, the S-Ps, are taking our country. And, if you think the American Flag and its heritage is dear to their hearts you could not possibly be more wrong.
The attacks on the Confederate Flags are taking place all over the southern states, and are so numerous that short stories about each instance could fill, most likely, several books.
First: What previous post? It just isn't here!
Second: What the hell are you trying to say? I've read through your post about three times and I can't make sense of it, except that you seem to be positing some weird conspiracy against the southern parts of the USA.
Anyway, I'm not seeing it, so maybe you could provide some substantiation for your claims, and then I'll look at them seriously. Until then, well....I'm still looking for your previous post, and finding some truth to its absence.

spurgemastur: I should have used the word "comments" vice "post" as that might have been the word that threw you. Please notice that I edited my post which was originaly a single paragraph, and after doing some online searches it is clear that school officials in Sampson County is one of the counties that is trying to prevent students from recognizing their Confederate, hence American, heritage.
Parents are pulling their kids out of school due to this same type activity from Texas, to Kentucky, to Virginia in favor of other types of education aside from public. Also, if you are not up to date on the "conspiracy" as you put it regarding the S-Ps, and those who supply them with big money, along with their legions of ACLU attorneys and Lincoln Cultists, and their association and manipulation of the NAACP, to include, their chairman Julian Bond, then you might want to consider news sources other than what you are accustomed to. I'm sure you will find that the Confederate Flag is very high on their to do list where the destruction of the American Culture in favor of a Multicultural Nation is very real. You may call this a "conspiracy" rather than a multicultural movement if you like, but rest assured the secret is out.

I totally agree with Slipgate, the problem is a lot deeper then a shcool district and their rules.....the problem is with the lack of morality and common sense in the secular left wing. they think anything you can say should be protected by first amendment rights, even if its treasonous or follows the path of sedition. Why with all that is going on and has gone on in the past 6 years has none of these blatant liars stirring up civil unrest, been convicted and hung. How many of our citizens have been killed because of the liberal left, (includes soldiers in the fight, but also what about those killed by illegal alliens) I've got a good ticket for the democrats for the 08 election - Hillary & BinLaden - they're in bed together anyway.
