ATV Question
I am in the market for an ATV. I am leaning towards a Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI for my property in Colorado. Any thoughts or suggestions on this unit, or is there another ATV I should consider for less money? Main use is utility, some trail riding and hunting trips to the high country.

How about this new chinese Atv's that are so cheap ?
My GF have had a chinese scooter now for a coupple of years and no problems at all.Except its a tiny bit eager towards rust.0 -

I can promise you you'll not have the room to get the banshee unleashed, not without hurting yourself real real bad. Banshee's are great bikes, and very fast bikes. Just like a utility, there are things they are good at, and things they are not.
Some of the guys and gals I ride with ride 4x4 and I've had a few myself. They do good on flatter more technical stuff, can run slow in deep mud, and can pull better.
My Banshee is fast, but I can't run with the 450 or 250r's in the woods. Heck I can even run with the Ex's. Not in the woods. I needs more of a suspension and the front end could be sweep back a tad.
Give me an Outlaw frame Banshee and the woods would be a different story. But then I'd come across a Sparks racing 250R and then I'd playing catch up again.[V][V][V]

I know your banshee is fast, very fast. My 450 foreman utility is slow, compared to your banshee very slow. I ride with people who used to own banshees. The problem they had was, with a banshee your either barely putting around, or going at it for all its worth. They are one mean fast bike, but its all or nothing. Around here, in the little wooded trails, there are a few places in the woods, were you do have the room to open it up. The problem is when you do, you don't have room to slow down for the turn. I'm not knocking the banshee, but most of the folks around here execpt those who like to drag race them, have traded off their banshees. They simply could not handle them well enough in the woods. So how much money do you want to loose.[8D]0 -

As with any 2 stroke it's all in the pipes. I think you'd be surprise if you ran an outlaw frame, which is more or less a 250r frame with Banshee motor mounts. Put Paul Turner pipes, with a woods port job and a 2 into 1 carb kit, then gear it down. 2 inch Shorter swing arm and 2 and 1 A arms with good shocks. It would be a great woods bike.
Paul Turner mid pipes are the best for woods you don't get the all or nothing powerband like you would with CPI or Rocket pipes.
The 1 carb converstion also helps low end alot.0 -

Yep pipes do make quite a difference in them. The banshee does have a place, there is no doubting that. Kind of like the raptor, it has a place, and is a fast bike, if you can keep the front end on the ground.0 -
Had a fire a while back, melted down my ATV'S. Insurance finally paid off, have all ready rebuilt 3 of them, but was out today shopping around a bit. Came across a maroon colored kawasaki brute force 700 v twin fuel injected with 1300 miles on it for 5500. Giving it some serious thought. 0
