Hit my neighbor's dog today UPDATE!!

A real nice red healer. Hit her on the road today. Rolled her right under the truck. I stopped and got out and there she was lying in the road whimpering. My heart sank. Sure enough, get up to her and she's got a huge gash on her chest, hair everywhere. She looked up to me and whimpered so I couldn't just leave her in the road. So I very carefully picked her up and laid her on the flatbed of my truck. Lo and behold she jumped right up on all fours and started walking around on the bed of the truck like, "OK, I'm ready to go to work". Took her to the vet, she will be OK, but is going to be a real sore dog for a week or so. Lots and lots of stitches.

Thank God!

I told the vet I would pay all cost even though it's not my dog. He was quite suprised.

Update


Well I met the vet and the dog's owner at the vet clinic this morning. Nothing but good news! The dog is doing just fine, up and running around, but she sure looks funny with all them steel stitches and tubes hanging out of her chest. What a sweet dog, happy to see everyone. And I split th bill 50/50 with the owner. He is going to take her home and make a spot for her in the house untill she heals up.

  Thank you for caring and both my sons have Red Healers and they won't stray that far from my sons. Very good breed of dogs and my Granddogs[:D][:D][:D] Thanks again for caring.
