Has anyone here had trouble on the big online auction? My money order has been cashed two weeks ago, still no item and they said they shipped. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I was recently suspended from EBAY for selling an non gun item for $2000. I sent it with a delivery confirmation receipt. USPS delivered it and left it on the doorstep. Well seems this person from CA claims his dog tore up the box and consumed the contents. Buyer refused to buy insurance.
Now paypal wants their $2000 back. I told them to go to hell and they just sent me a Paypal credit card with a $5000 limit! Sounds fishy to me!0 -
Hi everyone, I was recently looking for a part on one of my old guns and at the time didnt find the part here on GB, so i tried Ebay and much to my surprise found out that the part is banned by Ebay. So i wrote them a little message, I know it wont do any good, but, It felt good to spout off a little. Heres a copy, let me know what you think.

I have been a member/customer of E-bay for very nearly 10 years now and want to express my concern for your ban on selling/listing firearms parts. I am a collector of vintage to antique guns and think its appalling that your leftwing/reactionary policy effectively cuts me(and a great many other law abiding citizens), from a potential source of parts for these old pieces of
history. Are you going to stop listing items like cars, they pollute the air you know. What about aluminum items, takes millions of watts of electricty to produce aluminum - that contributes to coal pollution to produce the electricity. There are thousands of items BAD people could use to hurt others - You list knives right!!, So why do you take such a stand with firearms PARTS........ You've watched too much Rosie and listened to much to Hillary...
But thats your loss... Though I havent bought/listed 26000 items, my feedback is 100%, I've been a good customer, Guess I'll use E-Bay a lot less and look for 2nd amendment friendly business's. I used to be a power seller on ebay and I sold electronics. I can tell you that ebay doesn't just suspend people over a sale even if there are problems because they and Paypal do have a dispute resolution service. The only time you get a suspension on ebay is if you have a ton of complaints and bad feedbacks and somehow I doubt you fit into that category.
If the buyer filed a dispute with Paypal, all you have to do is prove the item was delivered (send them your DC number). Its the buyers problem if his dog ate the item.. not yours. Paypal should have sent you an email telling you that your buyer was disputing receipt of the item and that email always has about 7 or 8 things they ask you to provide to them. Make sure you reply to that email with everything they ask for, particularly any proof that the buyer didn't want insurance. The chances of them taking the money off of you is slim to none.. or should be in this situation. Also, even if the buyer had purchased postal insurance, postal insurance does not cover damage done AFTER delivery
Make sure you call both ebay as soon as possible and make sure you didn't get a spoof email from ebay on the suspension. Also, if you received a Paypal email that the buyer is disputing that they didn't receive the item or it was destroyed upon receipt, make sure their email was legitimate as well. If this is a scam, the buyer may try to get you to reverse the payment to them

Let's see, step by step:
1) you sell an item for $2,000 as you claim and send it via USPS and it was left at a door step, hence no proof of signature.
2) the item went uninsured

EBay has been busy. Just after they stopped the sale of firearms parts they came up with a new rule. If a seller has over 5% negative feedback within a certain period he will be suspended. So if a seller gets 19 feedbacks with in the period and one is negative then he is suspended. 0 -

I always wonder why anyone that sells and ships anything of value doesn't just include insurance with the shipping/handling. Adding a few bucks more to a $2000 auction is not going to make any difference to the buyer.
But in this case I don't think the insurance would have paid since the USPS will show the item as delivered. In the same respect, Paypal has no business taking back the $2k since the item was delivered.

Now that I see what the item was that the dog ate, these are .. shall we say.. recoverable items so too bad for the buyer. He/She better put on his/her rubber gloves and start sifting through the dog poo. USPS insurance only covers the item if the package is lost in transit or stolen if left on a porch. Not to mention the process for filing a claim to get the insurance is long and drawn out.
Rule of thumb when you ship anything to any ebay member (learned this the hard way), even if the buyer says no insurance, pay the extra money and insure the package anyway. Even if the buyer is a tightwad and refuses to pay the insurance, your luck will be that that particular buyer's package will get lost in postal hell, and he will blame you for it. The bad thing about shipping anything through the postal service is that if you are shipping any way except Express Mail, you have no way to track the package. You only know when it gets delivered with delivery confirmation. So, anytime you have something expensive like this that you're shipping, pay the extra money and ship express mail or send fed ex or UPS so you can track the package yourself and above all.. make sure you get signature confirmation. Put it right in your auction ad if its an expensive item that someone has to be there to sign for the delivery.
