EBAY
Has anyone here had trouble on the big online auction? My money order has been cashed two weeks ago, still no item and they said they shipped. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Make sure you reply to that email with everything they ask for, particularly any proof that the buyer didn't want insurance. Make sure you call both ebay as soon as possible and make sure you didn't get a spoof email from ebay on the suspension. Also, if you received a Paypal email that the buyer is disputing that they didn't receive the item or it was destroyed upon receipt, make sure their email was legitimate as well. If this is a scam, the buyer may try to get you to reverse the payment to them

A few thoughts - Seller protection plan
Items over 250.00 require D/C w-signature - No Signature- but buyer said delivered. I don't know if since buyer said delivered if this PP requirement would hurt your case not having D/C w/sig.
Shipped to Confirmed Address?
Did the transaction page give you 200.00 or 2000.00 seller protection?
Have all emails go though PP dispute page.

Rule of thumb when you ship anything to any ebay member (learned this the hard way), even if the buyer says no insurance, pay the extra money and insure the package anyway. The bad thing about shipping anything through the postal service is that if you are shipping any way except Express Mail, you have no way to track the package. You only know when it gets delivered with delivery confirmation. So, anytime you have something expensive like this that you're shipping, pay the extra money and ship express mail or send fed ex or UPS so you can track the package yourself and above all.. make sure you get signature confirmation. Put it right in your auction ad if its an expensive item that someone has to be there to sign for the delivery.

Here is my two cents, with such a big ticket item why in the world would you not have made insurance a requirement in your auction listing rather than an option. That give the buyer no choice in the matter and protects you as well. I'm calling a big BS on this story. 0 -
Since when is a dog consuming the contents of a delivered package grounds for return of the buyer's money?
It just seems sort of fishy to me that:
1) buyer told you what happened, acknowledging that the package was delivered;
2) he expects you to return his money, even though he knows that you shipped it and it arrived but HIS DOG ate it; and
3) Paypal agreed that you should return money for an item that was shipped and devouered after delivery.
Am I just missing something here?0 -

You may not be done yet. My wife had one that eBay said the buyer was wrong. Then the buyer went to PAY pal. PAY PAL said the buyer was wrong. Then the buyer went to Visa and Visa found for the buyer. Because Visa found for the buyer Paypal deducted money from my wife's account.0 -

Cholla is correct that this can happen. Ebay may have cleared up the matter but then your buyer can go to Paypal and complain. Assuming Paypal has or will find in your favor, what Cholla is referring to is called a "chargeback". If your buyer paid with their Debit Card or a credit card through Paypal, all the buyer has to do is call that bank/credit card company and start the chargeback process. If the bank/credit card company finds in their customer's favor, they do take the money back.
I don't know about banks but credit card companies are very lazy when it comes to their "investigation" on a chargeback so if they call you and you don't answer the phone or aren't home to answer the phone, something that simple could warrant them to find in their customer's favor so make sure you have an answering machine on and you watch your mail as they typically will want proof of what their customer purchased, that you mailed it and that the customer received it.
This used to be a very easy process and I'm sure it hasn't changed much. But, your buyer may not be the brightest crayon in the box to even think of this.0 -
