How often do you go out to eat?

We go out to eat probably three nights a week. There are just days where we don't feel like cooking.

Now, keep in mind, going "out" to eat might be a fancy restaurant or it might be Wendy's or Subway.

We do have one Chinese restaurant that we visit once a week, however, sort of like clockwork.

4-6 times a week - sometimes more if you count breakfasts and lunches.

... that's one of the problems in living amidst hundreds of great restaurants,[8D]

Almost every Friday night. May be Chinese take out or a formal expensive restaurant. At least once a week no more than twice a week. Children are gone, we can afford to do about anything we want. Some places we have ate, $30 bucks would be pushing it to do a meal. Fine wine is expensive.

Treating oneself to a small luxuary like eating out is never a waste of money.
Money in and of itself is never a worthwhile goal. It's only what money can get you that's important and if you never get anything, you don't have anything.

We go out to breakfast a couple of times a week. Lunch maybe a couple of times, and dinner two or three times. We also go to karoke and dancing a couple of times a week. A movie maybe once a month or rent a video a couple of times a month.

On the flip side, I drive a 20 year old car, don't have a bass boat, care little for season tickets to a ball game or a big screen TV.

We care not one bit about impressing others with show crap and just prefer to please ourselves.

It all depends on what your priorities are.

I live off of fast food. I don't have the time to cook anything or wash dishes. there's no way I'd pay 30$. I rarely spend more than 6$.

in Dallas, there's at least 1 restaurant on every block. a lot of ppl eat out almost every other day, spending all their extra $$ on clothes and restaurants. they don't save their paycheck, they're living the life. some ppl go to a restaurant every day. they do that in Dallas.

On a special occasion, I'll easily spend $100 on a restaurant for the two of us to dine.

But we do that two or three times a year, tops (our anniversary is one guaranteed night).

When we go to a normal "sit down" restaurant, we typically spend in the neighborhood of $30-40.

Fast food? We get out of there with about $10 for the two of us.

I never have time to make a meal...I eat out almost exclusively either at a restaurant or GF's house. but I cant remember ever spending 30 bucks on a meal I try to keep it under $7 for lunch and $10 for dinner...breakfast is a buck fifty (coffee) it costs me alot to cook for myself unless I eat macaroni or beans. If I had a few kids and a wife it would be worth it to eat at home

I work for a restaurant repair service, so we get at least one meal free a day.

Going out at least 2 to 3 times a day except weekends.
Then its once or twice per day on the weekends.

MaMa aka "Doris" dont cook, well sometimes, maybe[:0]

I would kill for real homemade food.

And yes, I tip at least $3.00 or more at every meal.
More if the meal is free, usually the tip is $5 or more.

Now if we goto the Outback type places, other than fastfood, I tip at least 20%

Lots, but mostly with my mom and her boyfriend (they've both got serious money). When its coming out of my budget, I'd rather spend the $30 on *really* nice steaks, some prawns, etc. and do hte cooking myself. Better food for the $$, better service, and it tastes better too. Also don't have to worry about keeping my 2 kids up past bedtime, etc.

That's almost exactly our schedule for evening meals, even the Chineese restaurant ...
... but I'll add about 3 lunches a week "out" too.

Usually about twice a week if you don't count lunches and breakfasts. I went to a place in Orlando last week that was out of this world. Texas de Brazil. The best and most I think I have ever eaten at one sitting. $60 a head going in.

7 or 8 times per week. Gets old.

Usually only once a month. My wife can cook, and cook very well! If they kids do something good (bring home good report cards, etc), we will let them choose a restaurant and take them, but that is just every 9 weeks! Since the son turned 13, and most restaurants stop the children's menu (and PRICES!!) at 12, it is EXPENSIVE anymore!!! I will take the wife out for Valentine's Day and our anniversary, but those are about the only "special" occasions.

It does get old. I eat out every day I work, since I don't live in town and can't go home to eat. Dawnie and I try to go out together about once a week.

A lot more than I want too. I like eating at home. Sometimes we will go two or three months without eating out, then we go out once a week for a while, then back to eating at home. To me eating at home is "special".

I guess I am the rare person that thinks "homemade food" is vastly over rated.

I eat out about 6 times per week lunch and dinner. Oriental food as often as I can.

We dont go out often enough to suit me....On birthdays, anniversaries etc we do go out, usually to the Outback....but I made the mistake of cooking Prime Rib for Classic one night and he says mine is better than any restaurant he has eaten in....damm..I still love lobster and alaskian king crab...

Cant find a good chinese place here .....

Classic says he prefers my cooking to any restaurant, so unless I go on strike, I am the cook...*LOL

If your bargaining unit does not have a contract BR then it is time to strike for higher wages, better working conditions and more holidays. Negotiate away the higer wages for dinner out on the increased holidays. Sorry about the Chinese, our best is Thai.

We love to eat out but since I have retired and no longer bring in the big bucks we eat at home most of the time.[:(]

If you guys would chip in and increase my social security checks a bit I might be able to justify getting out to eat more often.[;)][;)]
