What new gun to get.

I'm looking for a new gun. I'm wanting something in the 500 dollar range, but I have up to 1500 to spend. Give me some ideas guys.
No collector stuff, I want to shoot the crap out of it.

    My wife usedta carry a Walther, but since it was for carry, she decided to get something that would work.

    She carries a Bulgarian Makarov now.

    Personally, if I had $500 I wanted to spend on another pistol, it'd be another CZ.

    I'm a diehard CZ fan.

    For $469 you can pick up a NIB P-01.

    Buy the Glock you are leaning towards. Then pick up the Remington FrancF recommended. That rifle sound like a neat, low-recoil plinking and target rifle.

    A nice M1 carbine would be another gun you could shoot and never loose money on.

    If you wanted another "battle rifle", I would say go for the M1A before the other like FAL or H&K. The H&K is neat but it seems to recoil more to me and the bolt doesn't lock back when the magazine is empty like most other semi-autos.

    Or maybe one of the small Beretta or H&K carbines that shoot pistol cartridges.

    I didn't like the Spas as much as I like thhe Benelli M3...if you ever get a 50 cal...get the bolt action single shot...keep your eyes peeled for a good deal on 40cal barrel and you will be tons happier with that Glock. 357 sig ammo is never a bargain.

    If I were spending money in that price range....I think I would go with something like a 454 Ruger...you can shoot 45lc in to "save" a little money. OR....a good, used 1911

    ps...the Laredo is in your range (hint hint) and THAT is something you will like a LOT!

    I have both Glocks that you've mentioned. I also have a 21 and the compact 45. I carry a 38 special and I have a shotgun for the house.

    I'm going to look at the 357 Glock sometime this week. I think I'm going to buy it. I would like to buy the 40 conversion barrel for it. The 40 I have now is an older one, I'm not in love with the older design.
    The light on the Glock is for a USP I have so it looks funny on it.

    Don't just get the SSDD! Try something that is a LOAD of fun - a Thompson 1927A1! They are great shooters, use .45 ACP super cheap ammo and reliable as anything. You should be able to pick one up for $800 or so.

    Well, I just went ahead and got the Glock 26. The size of it is perfect, so I could not go with any other, and I like that you can use other Glock mags for it. I also picked up some night sights and a new holster for it. As for what I want to buy next, I don't have a clue, but an AK underfolder will most likely be it. As for what you might choose, I consider ammo cost more than the gun cost, because you can spend a lot more on ammo than you would a gun, and wind up not using it that much. My new Glock is my carry anywhere gun, and I would like to see how it holds up while white water rafting and going to the beach. I am confident that it will survive my upcoming vacations, which is why I chose it. And the size just makes it a lot easier to carry in this hot weather.
