Ruger Super Blackhawk in 44 mag.

The only thing you need to purchase as an accessory is a decellerator grip.

Should be able to pocket a bunch or spend it on ammo.

+1 Thats what I would do, or even a nice Sig 220.[:0][:0]

Try to avoid the peer pressure to buy one of those "Girlie-Man" new plastic block looking, unisex pistols!

What about a Springfield XD 40 cal.?

Buy THREE--a Springfield XD 9, a .40, and an AK. Since you really only want ONE gun, keep the .40 and send the other two to me...then we're ALL happy. [^][;)][:D][8D][:p]

I know that you have a good selection of battle rifles, so how about a battle shotgun:

I'm looking for a new gun. I'm wanting something in the 500 dollar range, but I have up to 1500 to spend. Give me some ideas guys.
No collector stuff, I want to shoot the crap out of it.

I am trying to answer the same question myself. I am stuck between many options: Lots of ammo, Glock 26, PS90, SKS, AK47, Ruger 10/22. Also need a .45. So many choices, if I had the money I'd get em all, but it looks like the Glock is going to be next for me, because it will be most useful in the near future. The size and reliability of it is just too good to pass up, and I need a gun that small that I can carry anywhere, whether on land or under water, or while camping. Also helps because my others are too big to be carrying around in this hot weather.

Sig P220 if you don't have one. By far my favorite gun. They are a pure joy to shoot and very accurate.

How about an elegant piece of jewelry like this Seecamp .380ACP-LWS:

I would suggest a Barrett Semi Auto .50 BMG, but you would have to have a few more bucks first. That would make you the coolest chick in your home town!

Indiana doesn't require a permit to purchase firearms, pistols included. But yes, I do own a ccw permit and I do carry a pistol.
I plan to shoot paper targets and I've been known to shot empty pop cans.

I've been offered a Glock 357 sig with night sights and 4 15 rd clips for 400. I'm leading towards this gun right now.

I think for the price I rather have a Spas 12. I can shoot shotguns, but keep in mind I'm not a very big girl. The recoil on a shotgun is something I try to avoid.
Along with the battle rifles I also have 4 shotguns.

If I had an available 1500 to put towards a fire arm, I'd put it on something of the FN FAL persuasion. That is if it were me.

Got one, it's very loud and bruises my shoulder.

If you are gonna "shoot the crap out of it," the Glock you mentioned would do fine. My Glock is inexpensive and reliable.

I'll gladly rub your bruised shoulder after you've fired it.

Have you ever tried a high quality target Rifle/Pistol? I spend most of my range time shooting offhand with a Remington 40X, it's just more fun than any of the high power rigs. On top of that you do not have to worry about heavy recoil and the guns can all be adjusted to fit your petite frame. Take a look at these:

If your ever in CA I'll let you shoot the 40X and 52C, after a few rounds with a top quality rifle you'll be hooked.

If its something you just plan to shoot a lot I'd go with a glock 19. If your going to carry it or also home defense the G23 is a good choice. Although glock isnt perfect there are a lot of sights upgrades holsters and there are all easy to get compared to other guns.
