I was going to scrap this booger out.....but I just thought...why not put it on line!!!!! One thing....should I sell it here??? How does something like a big-ole-gold ring from a well known school do on a Gun site?

I never really "did" anything to that lady....only asked if she had a NEW ring and made a point to tell the manager that I had NO IDEA what happened to my ring.
I would love to know why she was on work release though. I bet it isn't for putting change in other people's parking meters. No harm done....[B)]
The ring is wieghed in grams....that is what my scale is set for. I haven't really gotten the whole "gold scale" thing down. I know 24k is what the VALUE is figured on....and its hard to estimate just what this is in "REAL gold weight"...especially with the big hunk of blue on top.
I hope it gets a good home. If it goes cheap it may be something one of you guys could make out like bandits.

How do you figure out the true gold "value" in something....I have a vague clue on how to....but not REALLY. Like 10k...14k...(and stones involved in the item)I usually don't have things with nice enough stones to figure any real money in. I usually deal with 10k items and PAWN price is a little hard to explain...but it definately is NOT what a piece is worth (at all.) Just an amount I hope to give in LOAN. So...about $2.50 per gram is a start in the negotiations when I deal with things.
Three different people try to buy my "scrap" gold. One refinery who I send the gold to and they send back my stones and a check. A guy who travels around every three months or so from New York.....and a "hussler" type guy who makes his own jewelry and has a small club type reputation in the area.
All of these guys seem to have another step to this chain......and I seem to be a starting point toward a thriving business. Which I don't mind. Guns are my "thing"....and jewelry is a bit part of it...but it interrests me a bit where it may be leading toward.0 -

The "K" scale is based on percents of purity. 24K is pure, so 10K is 10/24ths, or a bit less than 42% pure. That's not my market, so I don't know the discounts off of CBOT price for recycled gold, but it will be quite a bit, if for no other reason than to pay for the testing to determine exact "K" amount, or "protection" to cover any "K" amount below the stated purity.[:)]0 -

Ahh, that's no excuse.
Ok. Looking forward to the info. A posibility that someone may want it back, maybe he pawned it off for cash and now misses it. Maybe it was stolen(god forbid). Maybe he has passed on and it got lost in the shuffle and the kids/grandkids are looking for it.0 -
