Bashing Gun makes
I think it's important that everyone refrain from bashing brand a or
brand b unless they have actual experience with a particular firearm.
This way we all will make informed decisions when we decide about
purchasing a particular firearm. This works well at other forums
that I am member of.Hearsay information tends to get twisted and embellished each time it's told.By the way, all makers have bad days
it's how they react to taking care of the problems they created.

I do not think direct experience with a particular gun make or model as regards function, accuracy or reliability is sufficient to make an informed choice. For example, it is common knowledge that Glock owners lip-synch Cher tunes and adore reading stories about gladiators to one another. This is not a consideration if one is carrying concealed, but at a range or gun store brandishing a Glock could get you invited for the weekend at somebody named Steven's house. Similarly, H&K owners have all undergone some level of transgendering, most of them with a wardrobe and Bichon Frise that rival the best that can be found in West Hollywood or coming out of thesneakyrussian's closet. 0 -
I attempted to fire a Lorcen once. Does that qualify me to make an informed bash? It turned out to be more like holding it. 0 -
I saw a Jennings once at a gun show. I instantly understood why they had such a bad reputation. 0 -
I have a Raven. It is silver. It is sparkly and pretty. I don't know if it will shoot. It is pretty. It is a good gun.
I have another gun. It is black. It makes loud noises. It is a bad gun. It is called a Clock, or something like that, and can't even tell time.
Ha, ha. They sure fooled me.

Here we go again guys, the thread was a suggestion to stop gun bashing.
Now we have two purely SUBJECTIVE opinions that Glocks suck.
Virtually every law enforcement in GA now carries a Glock. They swiched over from S&W a few years ago. Why?
Independent OBJECTIVE tests showed the Glock to be dependable, accurate and virtually indestructable. Recently San Antonio PD upgraded their Glock 22's. You will remember several hundred hit the auctions. They all sold like hotcakes for $325-$350.
You are entitled to your opinion- but to bash a gun without stating a valid reason makes both of you look pretty foolish.
Everybody agrees that Glocks are butt ugly but...just chill.0 -
Hey, man.
I've owned a Jennings. Rather, my then-fiance did.
They do suck.0 -

I won't outright say they suck, but, I have fired a lot of guns and Glock is the ONLY gun to ever jam (consistently). Now perhaps that is my fault since I am told the jam I had was a "limp wrist" jam, but still, never happened with any other gun. I have seen plenty of people have the same jam issue with Glocks.0 -

I wonder what it is about Glocks that makes people either love 'em or hate 'em.
I own 4--including the 2 which are supposed to be the most troublesome models, the 26 and 36. I have never, in thousands of rounds fired through them, had one ever fail to go bang (well, there may be a dud primer or two in there, but...that's not the Glock's fault) when I pulled the trigger. I have become, in short, a Glock fan.
This was not always the case, however. My very first pistol was an H&K USP; and I joined into the Glock bashing with a vengence...however, my bashing was pretty much borne out of ignorance--I had never even fired a Glock at the time. Once I did, and got to know them...well, I rarely carry my USP anymore; and a Glock 21 has supplanted it on my nightstand. Why? I've found that I shoot Glocks better than the USP's.
I'm not coming out and saying they're the best pistol ever made (that distinction belongs to the H&K P7 series), but they work for me. If they don't work for you, great. Don't use 'em. Heck it's a free country, knock 'em all you want, even. But really, why?0 -
We have all had experiences with different guns. I have owned about 10 Glocks, I own 3 now, but they have all performed flawlessly. I have also had other guns, that some people swear by, that turned out to be junk. Some guns treat their owners different[;)] 0 -

RIA's are made by underfed children in Filipino sweat shops, and are definitely NOT your daddy's .45.[}:)]0 -
My dad's .45 was a Colt Government Model, but he gave it to me.[:D] 0 -
The only thing I have ever had that jammed like a Gluck was an Ortgies almost 100 years old, with a pitted feed ramp. Glucks are butt ugly. Known fact. They also suck.
Got any more new rules for us?[:p]0 -
I have a few Glocks and Im very happy with them, their durable, reliable, accurate and have a high Mag capacity. It does seem to be the gun people love or love to hate? 0 -
I am not a Glock hater. I am not a Glock lover, either. Functionally, the Glock is a great gun. I don't like the feel of it in my hand and therefore, when I would go to the range, it would stay in the safe, cuz it wasn't as "fun" to shoot. Therefore I sold it and bought a Browning Hi-Power that fits my hand like a glove. Honestly, I believe that is really why there is a love-hate thing with the Glock. If they don't fit the hand, they are really uncomfortable, leading to poor handling, leading to jams.
I will stop my rambling now.0 -
