Shot and wounded a coyote today...
Went up into the national forrest picking huckleberries with the wife today. After we were done picking a coyote ran out in front of us and started running down the road in front of my truck. The wife popped of a few rounds with her .40 S&W and missed it (the truck was bouncing around) and the yote cut up the bank for an escape. I told Belinda to hand me the gun and I popped it at about 30 yards. The damn thing was flopping all around the brush and I popped of a few more rounds...he was still flopping all over the place, so I climbed up the bank and walked up to him...and finished him off. He had several holes through him...those full metal jackets must have went right through him without a lot of soft tissue damage.

Yeah...but as a back up on bear, the FMJ's might penetrate better.?.? She carries her .40 in case I can't hit the thing with my .460 S&W.0 -

More like saving wildlife if you have turkeys, grouse, or deer in the area. Those yotes will put a whooping on a turkey population, especially this time of year when the poults are still to young to fly.0 -

i hunt them all fall. there are very few farmers that turn me down when i ask permission to hunt them during the fall and winter. also helps when when i need to get permission to hunt deer around here. i use to shoot them just because of the problems they cause the farmers around here. but now i usually just wait until there in prime to thin them out a little. might as well get paid for having fun.. 0 -

I shot one with my Colt Anaconda .44 Mag and he dropped in his tracks. I have pic's, it was a large coyote probably the biggest one Ive killed. 0 -
