Truck Exhaust, what do you think???
Borla, the only name in exhaust.

My doctor told me bad things would happen if I was allowed to think. You should just give me the money you're planning on spending on that exhaust system and keep the factory. 0 -
get a 70 Series Flowmaster and dump it. It sounds good, performs, and doesn't have too much cab noise. Borla too loud in my opinion 0 -
Waste of money to purchase, waste of money to install and lowers the value of the truck.
BTW, it might be illegal on the street IE add in the ticket expense (most states have a requirement that reads along the line of "may emit no more smoke or NOISE than when new)0 -

I have a complete flowmaster exaust on my bronco. It has a very nice deep tone to it and performs very well.0 -

Borla are well made, and will outlast your ownership of the truck - I have had two sets - they added HP, and Snarl.
They are NOT the highest in HP, though. What you are paying for is the Stainless. You will be sad when/if you or your Significant Other backs them over a curb or someone runs up your rear in the parking lot.0 -
I remember as a kid if you needed exhaust on your vehicle you would go and get a $15 Thrush Muffler and throw on the thing. It always included a decal you could affix to the vent window. 0 -

Those kinda went to the wayside when cataletic converters came about.
The Thrush glasspacks were designed to bolt up directly off the headers and the mufflers do not give the added proformance that todays exausts do.
But I do remember when they were the thing to get!0 -
Whatever you get watch out for your departure angle if its 4wd. Coming out behind the rear wheels or better yet in front of the rear wheels is best. 0 -
I had a flowmaster and it was THE most annoying thing I've ever attached to a vehicle.
It would reach it's deafening tone only when climbing a hill right before the house.
I'd rather run open headers. Sounds better.0 -
I had a stock enhaust on my 92 camaro and replaced the muffler with a flowmaster ($110). It has an awesome sound and set off car alarms everywhere it went. I replaced the exhaust 3 years later with a Borla CAT back system ($900). It did not sound as good and would no longer set off car alarms.
Power/mileage seemed identical with both.
determination: 1 flowmaster muffler is better than and entire Borla exhaust.0 -
Flowmaster is junk.
It's only for those who want sound.
This would be my second Borla system. The first, I was very pleased with.
I have decided, however, that a side exit will be my choice.
Gibson says they average 15-20hp with their systems. The truck is not underpowered at all, I would just like a little throaty tone.0 -

I have to disagree!
My flowmaster system added power as well as tone to my Bronco.
I'm not talking just a small amount of power, it was very noticable!0 -

I like my flowmaster.
I had a cheap midas muffler rust out and a friend of mine offered me a new in box Flowmaster Series 40 for next to nothing. I bought it and installed with junk stainless tubing around the yard. About one foot behind the cat and a foot out the back of the muffler and then a turn down. Gave good power and a little rumble but not much.
I just had my cat plug up and removed the exhaust and beat the cat's guts out. Put the muffler back and got lots more power and a real nice tone.0 -
look at the gibson extreme dual. That's probably what I'll be putting on my 'hoe. it comes out both sides behind the rear wheels.
I've only lived in IN a couple months now, but I haven't noticed any laws about emissions or noise yet...

Flowmaster is the only way to roll. 40 series got me added gas milage and noteable power increase. 0 -

I've had Flowmaster, Dynomax, Borla, etc.
Borla is the only exhaust I've ever had that I will buy again.
There is not doubt that Flowmaster makes a good exhaust, they have great notes, and good power increases. I had a Delta 40 series on a vehicle a while back. Lasted a year before the rust started in. Same with my Dynomax.
The Stainless Borla system is the only way to do, especially here in Indiana. They produce great notes (I don't want loud, I want throaty), and offer good power in their systems.
The possibility of me towing a trailer here or there has changed my mind about the dual rear exit exhausts. I will have a side exit system.0 -

Imagine actually being off road and having to turn around. When you back up into a berm or edge of a dirt road you just may "poke" your exhaust tips into the dirt and/or bend them. Bad news either way. Departure angle and stuff. Plus, it looks cool as hell turned out in front of or right behind the tires. 0 -
I cut off my muffler on my 97 chevy truck, gas mileage went up about 1-1.5mpg, throttle response improved, sounds better (not too loud, converter is still in place). Cost?? Two hacksaw blades, package of six was i think $.99. At $3+ per gallon, I know I made the right decision financially. That was four years ago. Saved a lot of money!!! 0 -
Always been a fan of Flowmaster...have had them on my Bronco and my F250. Put a Gibson cat-back on my brother's Bronco and the thing rusted through in less that 2 yrs...junk. Borla was to much $$$ for me. 0 -

On a brand new F150? I think not.
Another reason for the side exit exhaust is the possibility of towing a boat. Dipping my exhaust in the lake is not something I'd like to do.0 -
