Big Screen TV is on the blink...Update..
65" Mitubishi.. Thank the saleman for talking me into the extended warranty.
It has been having a small problem. Tv will play and all of a sudden it will say: Airflow problem.. will shut off in 1 munute. Humm.. been doing it for about 3 months.. now getting worse.. So I called Circuit City for a repair. They set up an appointment for 12-5 today. Well not exactly.. I call the TV repair place and guess what? Never heard of me or my problem. TV man hangs up on me. Swell..
So I call CC again. Another Local Mitubishi Dealer is going to do the job. I get another confirmantion number from CC and the TV man will call within 24 hours. Well they just did.. Backed up with work for weeks.. really can't do it at all. Sorry. Hummm......
So I call Circuit City again. Maybe the third time is a charm. Not really.. Woman says she has another TV man who will call in 24 hours lined up...gives me a confirmation number .. This is really funny.. He is in Virginia. Virginia I ask.. Hell I live in South Carolina that is two states away. Woman says he will call and come repair the TV. I reply.. sure he will...[}:)]

quote:Why can't you load it in a truck, take it back to Circuit City, and DEMAND a new TV? If they won't stand behind what they sell for more than 6-months, to heck with them! If they won't exchange it, put it on the sidewalk in front of the store. Stand there with it and hand out flyers to everyone entering the store detailing your experience with them. You will either get put in jail or a new TV!
There was this guy in delaware, he had bought a mercedes benz from this dealer, car broker down 2 days later and they refused to honor their warranty, now this was older guy who was retired, he now bought lad across fromt he dealership, and he sits there all day with a giant sign saying LEMON, Bought from (whatever their name is) and hes got another mercedes from some one else sitting on top of his mercedes. there was a website about it but cant remember it. i thought that was great!0 -

You wont believe this but I had the same tv and same problem but from The Good Guys.called in for a fix the company came out removed the guts and said they will get back to me!6 months later nothing!
We are still trying to get the parts!2 weeks calling the good guys did nothing for me,they said the tv repair people is fixing it!Add 3 month more and finaly got fed up!Called the good guys again but refused to talk to anyone but a manager! He said to go buy a new tv and send them the bill!So my point is call the place you got it and
get the top person there and gripe!
Whoa... I have a bad feeling the local Magistrate is going to get to hear the case. I need a name at the store of someone in charge to have papers served if they don't want to work on the TV.0 -
it's a mitsubishi,
did you bump it or hit it with any projectiles lately?
You're lucky it didn't burst into flames [;)]0 -
Ext warranties are a rip!
They should bring you a new and pick up old!
Talk to the store manager!0 -
Walked in CC with Wife and spoke to the head man there. He was not happy I had 3 appointments set up and nobody came to do the repair. He called the top man.. Head of 600 CC stores.. that person was absent today and would get the news tomorrow morning. Suppose to call us and let us know what they will do by Friday. 0 -
keep us posted, this has been quite an episode! 0 -
Circuit City called. Some lame excuse the 3rd dealers computer was down and they couldn't contact us. I ask the CC caller if they had a phone? Anyway they set up the dealer out of NC that is 160 MILES away. Said the dealer would call and set up an appointment to come see us. Sure they will.... 0 -
Don't think I'd mess around with em much more. If not honoring the
contract, I would tell them they have the option of having a new/working
unit there in 48hrs or I'd be filing suit.
Being a petient/nice guy can only go so far.0 -
Documention... I have every time and date , confirmation #. What CC doesn't know is that I know the Magistrate in the district where the store is.[:0] We also have the Store Managers name. So, I will wait about 1 more week and file a "Claim and Delivery" against the Manager and Store.Manager will be served and have to appear in court. They have 30 days to answer the court, then a hearing will be set up. 0 -
If I were you there is no better way to resolve this than to load your T.V. up into a truck and drive it down there in the middle of a Saturday afternoon, push it into the store and start raising hell. It won't take the manager too long to figure out that you are chasing off all of his customers and then maybe you will get some more immediate attention. One down size is that your T.V. is enormous, so moving it will probably be a big pain. The upside is that it's giant size will come in really handy for "dramatic effect".
Too bad Circuit City hasn't gotten with the corporate times and outsourced thier help desk to India, they could really cut some money off of thier bottom line that way and then be able to afford better technical services. I wonder if they will mail me a $50 gift card if I make the suggestion to their upper management.0 -
The Fiasco is over. TV DR. showed up this morning and it was repaired. Said he had repaired a few for the same thing. [:D] 0 -
Retailer suffeling their responiblity to manufactures will not work.
There is a duty owed by everyonein the chain of distribution, Manufacture, Retailer, anyone who works to get the product to the consumer.
"Supplier" include: The Manufacture, assembler, wholesaler, Retailer: Absence of privity by a retailer is not a defense.0 -
congratualtions! 0 -

I got the GS out of the garage Sat. Corvette Club requested a pic of it to use on their 08 calender. Drove it up to Lake Murrey and did the shoot.0 -
Select,
Is your TV in a cabinet? If so, that might be what is restricting the air flow. I know that my TV said not put it inside a cabinet or within 8 inches of the wall.0 -

It is sitting on top of a Mitubishi factory cabinet built specifically for it.0 -

You may be right on this one [:D][:D] BUT the LR is too large not to have one.[:o)]0 -
Maybe if you were crippled, you wouldn't feel that way.
Doug0 -
What's being crippled got to do with a TV? 0 -
quote:Maybe if you were crippled, you wouldn't feel that way.
The two, crippled and a 65 inch tv have NOTHING to do with each other....
I know I would feel the same way as saying a person was waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy too hooked on tv if they had one or more money than brains, and if a person was crippled, well there are a thousand and one ways a person could spend the money instead of vegetating in front of a big screen tv....
Like spending it on exercise equipment, games for the WHOLE family, perhaps a hot tub to ease the muscles ....etc..0 -

... or has plenty of both to be able to afford big enough space to be needing such a big TV [:D]
What I don't understand is that if someone needs a TV that big why not just get a good projector -- it's cheaper, quality is better and in big space, like home theater, it's absolutely the best. Try playing Black or Halo on a 100" wall! [:D]0 -

Well, my TV was crippled but didn't stop working for two weeks. I've had a hard day... took the Corvette to the Dr. at 8 this morning, TV repairman here, hydroseed estimates, and finally getting some property closed early evening. I am whipped .. headed for the powerjets.. goodnight. 0 -
