What Movies do you wish they would make?
Mine are:
Last of the Mohicans was first of a trilogy about the American frontier as it moved west. I wish they would continue the series by next making The Deer Slayer showing Natty Bumpo as a middle aged man in KY. The final movie would be Bumpo as an old man in The Plainsman.
Master & Commander was basted on three of a 25 book or so series. There is lots of material left to make another move.
Another movie having Val Kilmer play Doc Holiday.

UC, Updated, because much of what is in there is outdated. Keep the sexy stuff and issue an edited version for the Christians who think that erections make Baby Jesus cry. (They're entitled to not watch dirty stuff they don't agree with)
Enemies F&D and the sequals (Sorry, Matt, havent read the sequels yet)
The Bonus Marchers... About one of the most repressed outrages of American History, where our OWN .gov attacked veterans who only wanted to get paid what they were promised.
The Governors Edict...Another repressed period of history. The Missouri Governor declares that it's the duty of "good Christians" to drive out the "mormon cultists", and begin an attempt at an American Holocaust, killing fellow Americans, burning their homes, and driving them from them, simply because they believe differently (and were told to). I'm not Mormon, nor am I religious, but this period of History never gets told, and it needs to be.
Aftermath...A docu-drama which starts as Hurricane Katrina subsides. Graphic video and re-creations showing police officers from all over the country, enforcing ILLEGAL orders to confiscate legal guns from residents, the subsequent media blackout on it, and the lies and deception practiced by the NOPD when called on it by NRA and their attorneys. With special attention paid to the 700 cops, paid for as part of the Omnibus Crime Bill of 1994, federal funds, who DID NOT EXIST, but were merely a tool to get more federal monies. The conduct of the corrupt to the bone, scumbag, thug NOPD should warrant an hour all by itself.
Maybe me and the horror writer guy can get started on these screenplays soon. Not that anyone would actually make these films.

I'd like to see a series made about the life and times of the early settlers of the southernmost part of Southwest Virginia and western North Carolina, (now East Tennessee) during the 1765 to 1785 time frame. Say, begin with the Longhunters and end, maybe, with the Overmountain Men.
This locale and era is astoundingnly exciting as it is filled with many of America's most noted pioneers, who along with their families, and the families of their neighbors try to establish themselves in a land prohibited against settlement by the King of England, and by hostile Indians too. A good ending would be when many of the toughest of these men cross over the mountains to play a significant roll in defeating the British forces at King's Mountain due to a threat against their settlements.0 -
I would have liked to see Red Storm Rising made into a movie. A few more of Clive Cussler's books made into movies would be good.
A movie about Otto Skorzeny's life and exploits would be interesting.0 -
I think there is already an English movie about Bravo Two Zero. I second a series on Red Storm Rising.....although the Soviet Union has already been defeated. Beach 0 -
Punisher 2, Boondock Saints 2 0 -
The third in the Civil War Series. We have had "Gods and Generals" and "Gettysburg", now we need the final installment, "The Last Full Measure".
I would also like to see the story from the book "Brules", by Harry Coombs made into a movie.0 -
I would love to see the Book "Shooter" by and about Jack Coughlin made into a movie:

Maybe one on the life of Carlos Hathcock, insted of just stealing parts of his life for other movies.
Another would be on the life of test pilot Tony LeVier:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_LeVier
Tony was a good friend of my grandfathers so I had the chance to spend quite a bit of time around him as a child. One of my earliest memories was with Tony when I was about 3. The airshow my dad and grandfather were running was rained out so all of the pilots got together in a large hanger and sat around a smudge pot to keep warm. For hours on end Tony would talk about his time flying and testing the P-38. I just sat their on his lap and listened. Tony was then and is now one of the true "Heros" of my life. If you haven't read his autobiography I highly recomend it.
"Pilot by Tony LeVier with John Guenther, 1954 (reprinted 1990)."0 -

There needs to be a fourth movie in this series that details the rape of the the Southern people during reconstruction.0 -

Agreed that this would be a good story about a dark period in our history. This period is skimmed over far to often IMO.
The three I mentioned are from the Killer Angels series written by Michael Sharrah (?). Wasn't anything after the Last Full Measure that I am aware of.0
