Shipping ammo with FEDX
Can anyone give the rundown on shipping ammo via FedEx, i have called them and get the run around, after a half hour on the phone i still don't know how to use them to ship ammo.

well, it came back. im not sure if it was because i was sending to alaska i needed an ORM-D-AIR which i did NOT use. It got sent back for "Hazardous material discrepancy" I used a plain jane ORM-D sticker like shown in this article. Does UPS charge MORE for that or something??
Anyone know how to ship these things to Alaska?0 -

I'm not so sure there is any UPS or FedEx ground service to Alaska... most often cargo like that gets sent to a freight forwarding company that loads it onto ships... not feasible for a small shipment...0 -

Method, You, as a private person, can NOT ship ammo by AIR. No matter what sticker you put on it. Note most sellers here always state in their
adds: .."to the cont.48 states". How would you like to be flying in a 767 jet at 28,000 feet, knowing there is a box of 1000 .308 shells sitting near the main truss in the cargo hold ???[xx(]0 -
Just send it ground, scribble ORM-D on the side of the box, take it in tot he fedex place and ship it, dont say anything. Noone cares long as it goes ground.
I have found that UPS stores will take ammo if it is NOT owned by an anti-gun fool. I had issues early on shipping ammo, but found UPS store where the clerk says AMMo is ok by us. I been going back ever since.0 -

Ok, so then everything else that's been said is just a "way around" the rules? Like putting an ORM-D sticker on it? (which I did)0 -
NO. ammo can not go by AIR, ground only !!! Its hard to get anything
to Alaska by ground. Again, to do it legal, read all the threads here
except any that tell you to lie or hold back info to the shipper.
There are many classes of Other Regulated Materials...ORM. Most ammo
for rifles, pistols, shotguns are listed as "small arms cartridges"
A can of spray paint ships as "ORM_consumer product" You can stop reading ALL of the posts here and go to the UPS or Fedex website to get the rules. Don't waste your time asking someone at UPS or FEDex, If they even know their own rules, the ugly head of gun-phobia may rear up and taint the answers they tell you. bob0 -
Fed Ex refused my box of ammo saying they only ship to and from FFLs. 0 -
Saxon- read the post above yours. 1. They DO ship other than ffl to ffl 2. They don't know their own rules 3. Print a copy of the rules, take with you. Have had to do this with UPS, FedEx, and Post Office at one time or another. 4. Good help is hard to find 0
