That is a load!!!
I let them hear my thoughts...0 -
And the number of responses on that website are bashing the heck out of him are mostly against.
Someone should twist his nose until he admits, publicly,
"Any rifle described as an Assault Rifle is a fully-automatic rifle,
generally not available to the public through purchase, or to criminals through theft.
Purchased models cost many thousands of dollars, and stolen copies only to be the result of careless federal employees, given legal owners more carefully safeguard their investments.0 -
I let them know my displeasure with his views. I noticed that there are several up this morning posting their disgust with Zumbo.
I also email Remington and told them that as a dealer I would no longer sell Remington Firearms as long as they continue to promote Zumbo's column.0 -
As I was scrolling down to the bottom I happened to catch a lead to a response from Zumbo.
"F@&% you, sweeties. Its my opinion, if you dont like it, kiss my ass."
Quite a dignified response on his part[:0]
BTW, when I posted my comments there were already six-hundred fifty something. After I posted there were 718. I didn't type slow....0 -
Damn word recognition, thiught I had it fooled....
To sum it up BLANK you BLANK-holes. Its my opinion, if you dont like it, kiss my BLANK.
I know you could have figued it out, but seeing it auto corrected really blankety-blanks me[:p]0 -

No cigar, here...even tho it is the general vierpoint of those not thinking the subject through.
These so-called 'assualt rifles..with full auto capabililties'..may well be the ONLY weapons covered under the Second Amendment..altho nearly ANY type weapon out there has been used by the military at one time or another.
Merely repeating the goverment line does little to advance Gun Rights.0 -
WHAT AN IDIOT!!!! 0 -
Left comments with Remington.
Used to enjoy reading Zumbo's articles. You think he might be suffering from Alzhiemer's or something like that? Affecting his thinking. Got bought out by the Brady crowd?0 -
I am in. I have no interst in tactical rifles, none in "varmint" hunting and now none in Zumbo. 0 -
Posted my response. Chose my words carefully and hopefully communicated adequately. Thanks. 0 -
Old Mr Zumbo has been receiving quite a few comments about his idiotic remarks at an alarming rate this morning. It's going to be interesting to see how Remington responds!!!
I have a safe full of hunting rifles, this week I'm placing an order for a new Yugo M 70 Ak- 47!!! I think I may go shoot a few varmints with it!!!![:D]
No more Remingtons for me!!!!0 -
Heres a link for ODL customer service, you can voice your comments to their letters to the Editor!!!

I stopped reading his drivel about 5 years ago because his elk hunting books and articles are horrible. The joke around here for years has been that I'm going to start a carrier in outdoor writing by writing an elk hunting book entitled "Jim Zumbo is an Idiot". I guess I waited too long...no one will be surprised by the title now. 0 -
I'm posting my response as we speak. 0 -
I responded using my real name and E-mail address.
Until I read that, Outdoor Life was my favorite magazine because the articles were short, I could read them during commercials.0 -
....Added my $.02, and ran across this addition from another well known gun writer:
...You are very much a part of the cancer infecting our great country.
A closed minded ignorant fool, you obviously have no idea what is at stake.

I enjoyed letting him know Remington makes/has made a lot of assault weapons....Nylon 66, 7400......wanted him to expand upon his sponsors evil weapons. 0 -
I told 'em what I thought.
While I'd defend to the death anybody's First Amendment rights, I thought his article was wrong and even elitist. There is no difference between hunting with an AR-type platform and Remington's own 7400 or 742 series rifles. They're both auto loading rifles.
As for the "spray and pray" mentality, 99% of coyote and prairie dog hunters are far too disciplined for that kind of nonsense.
I was going to eventually add another 7400 to my meager collection of firearms, but I'm re-thinking that right now.0 -
For a guy that makes a living with an outdoors show, he's not real smart.
Let's see how long till his show is canceled, or sponsored by the Brady Bunch.0 -
I've posted my response on his anti-gun blog and also emailed Remington, to make them aware of this B.S. and of my very pointed thoughts on Mr. Zumbo as a representative of their company.[:(!] 0 -
I'm not going to bother with a reply to him, since I'm sure that no one is reading them at this point.
I do hope that Remington figures out what a moronic statement he has made with this article. Come on.
First of all, it would seem that this guy isn't nearly as much of a proponent of the Second Amendment as he is a proponent of the hunting community.
Then again, I'm not sure he is that, either. A terrorist weapon, sure. There's something to be said for the AK performance in the field. Whether it is used as a weapon of choice for a terrorist or for a hunter, the fact is, an AK can take a whole lot of abuse and still perform marvelously. In the desert, you can get sand in the action, kick it around, drop it and it will still fire when you need it to. In the field, same thing.
AK's haven't been getting enough credit as hunting rifles. This guy doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. The round is smaller than many typical hunting rounds, yet as effective. The gun is not as heavy as many hunting rifles, so it is easier to carry in the woods... Once it's sighted in, you practically have to hit it with a hammer to screw up the sights on it.
Unfortunately, in Connecticut, the AK and its clones are banned from public ownership. We are fighting like wildcats to change that, but until we do, this is one girl that has to grit her teeth and talk back against vitriol like this guy is spewing every day of the week.
Ugh! With friends like him, who needs the Brady Campaign?0 -
Thanks for posting that and making it easy to respond Pa. The anti-gun crowd is merely gearing up to make another run at outlawing one particular class of our firearms simply because of the way they look (scary military look-alikes) or the way they function (semi-auto).
Heck, I have single shots that shoot a bigger, more powerful and longer range cartridge than any "assault rifle" has ever shot. And in regards to the "semi-auto" part, my .44 magum revolver, which is more powerful than most assault rifles, will fire one round per one trigger pull, just as will those feared "semi-automatics.". In addition my revolver will "automatically" ready the next round for fireing just as will those feared "semi-autos.". In addition, when I open the cylinder and push the ejector rod, my revolve will "automatically" eject the spent cases, just as will those feared "semi-automatics".
There is no reason to fear semi-automatic firearms over other firearms. There is no reason to fear firearms that are called "assault rifles" simply because they look like the military version of that same firearm. So if someone still wants to ban semi-automatics and/or "assault rifles" then they at least should be honest about it and come out and state that they really just want to ban guns altogether.
If we gunners could stick together and present a powerful, united front, such crap as was written by Jim Zumbo would not happen. Sadly, we gunners fight among ourselves more than we fight the anti-gunners. Plus, way too many gun owners do nothing for their gun rights and even quietly let the few of us who do try and do something go it alone.0 -
DUMBO ZUMBOS DAYS ARE NUMBERED HOPE HE LIKED THE CAREER HE USED TO HAVE MAN THERE ARE AT LEAST OVER 1000 POSTS NOW I READ THROUGH TILL I WAS DIZZY! WHAT A WAY TO SHOOT YOUR SELF IN THE FOOT!! That being said, I am glad Zumbo put that out so everyone will rally against such a foolish attack on the second amendment and all law abiding citizens.
I will not buy another Remington product until I see a public apology from Zumbo or Remington.
Zumbo basically dealt a slap to face of every law abiding american Firearm Owner.0 -
Since reddot47 thread got locked for no reason and will be off the front page I thought I would transfer the email addresses affiliated with Zumbo over here.
