need help making a decision...
Gonna start saving up some money for a major purchase, but I can't decide which choice to make....
On the one hand, I want a new tattoo, something that will go from my back, across my shoulder, and down onto my upper arm. The initial quote from my local guy was about $700 - $800.
On the other hand, I also want another rifle, too. The one I really want (Springfield M1A), is almost twice the amount of that new tat. However, my second choice, an AR-15, is in the same price range, about $600 to $800.
Ideally, getting both is what I really want (actually, all 3!!). But, paying the mortgages and feeding my family also rank high on the list of "how I should spend my money."
By the way, I'm also accepting donations! [:D][:D][:D]

Get the M1A. More fun. 0 -
Buy the gun. You call always get a "too" 0 -
Get the rifle. You can always resell it, not pay to have it removed. 0 -
I cant help but wonder how old you are....
My reason for asking? A married man with a family (you did say feeding your family)paying mortgages (more than one?) would not even think about spending or saving up for a tattoo (yes I have one) when everything else comes a lot higher on the list...
If you are going to save up for something, then save up for the rifle...As HeDog said, you can always sell it in a case of emergency, but you cant sell a tattoo...0 -

Go for the Tatt...they are harder to spend the money on. 0 -
i have on tat on my back/shoulder taht cost me $50 10 years ago, no way i would spend close to a grand on one. definately go with any gun over a TAT especialy with kids to think of. what does a tat do for the family, thats right nothing, what can a gun do for the family, well lets see, protection, food (if used for hunting), resale value in those hard times(furnace dies and you are broke?), family heirloom to be passed to kids and grandkids, used to teach your kids saftey ........................................ 0 -

Ha! Shows what you know!0 -
Go for the tatoo. Feeding the family is way over rated. 0 -
Guns Guns Guns. They only go up in value. You can sell them later, leave them to your kids or grandkids, not to mention all the fun you have shooting them. 0 -
You white-trash thug.[:)]

They've stopped making a LOT of different types of firearms over the last century, but they still come up for sale. I'm not worried about the M1A disappearing.0 -
If you need to ask the question, given the circumstances that you mention, please get the tattoo.
I'd rather you don't have a firearm.

Too late, I already own several of both.0 -
Hmm - a tattoo can't be lost or stolen... just kidding, buy the M1A.
For a minute I thought you might be a troll.0 -
just get a tattoo of an M1A and AR15 0 -
Neither. Spend the money paying off your debts. If you had no debt, you'd have a lot more money every month and disposable income. Then you could get both and not worry about it so much. 0 -

Sorry, I just don't post here much because I don't really know that much. I try and read/lurk until I'm better versed in the subject matter.0 -

I considered that as well. I figure if the U.S. invasion continues as is, I'll be able to point to my firearm tattoos and have the same effect our government is having.[:D]0 -

I've heard that a lot. I have yet to sell/trade a gun and get out of it what I paid for it.0 -

That's strange, I don't think I've ever lost money on one (and I'm not a dealer either).
I have a buddy that buys new guns more often than I buy socks. He shoots them for a while, decides to try something different, and takes a big hit on trade.
I guess it depends on how quickly you trade. If you buy a new gun, shoot it for a week and sell it, of course you won't get your initial investment back out of it. But I'll take guns as an investment over the long haul any day. A lot more fun than CD's and mutual funds too!0 -
I think guns tend to be more like cars when you think of investments. There are some rare, old, and/or restored cars that you can eventually make money off of. But for the most part, they go down in value every time they get traded or sold. 0 -
"but you cant sell a tattoo..."... sure you can, they look nice on lamp shades[}:)] 0 -
Why don't you do something memorable with your family istead. 0 -
