CW - i did exactly the same thing you are doing - 6 years ago. Hard, but proud, day. Harder yet to watch them pack their gear, saddle up and head to the sand box. My son saw me watching him pack and told me he would be okay and not to worry - yeah, right. Then he told me, "Dad, I am a soldier, this is what we do, and it is my turn."

Mine has gone and come back and is currently training other soldiers in Korea with another tour soon. My nephew just arrived in the sand box Saturday.

I hope you can make his graduation from boot camp at Benning. You won't regret doing whatever it takes to get there. They did have a web sight that you could follow along with his companies progress. Tell him thanks and i will remember him also.

    Nunn-

You're a better man than me. I got tears in my eyes when I took my kid to the first day of kindergarten.

Just want to tell you all how very grateful I am for your son and you. You folks are real American heros for standing up for our way of life. Best wishes to you, your son, and the rest of your family and God Bless.

One more soon-to-be Infantryman. Never let him forget that he is the tip of the spear.

Benning is a tough post, but a great place to learn how to be a soldier, become Airborne or Ranger qualified.

I wish your son the best in his military career, and also wish you the best. Thank him for serving, and thank you for supporting him.

I thank him for volunteering and I thank you for raising a son willing to stand up and be counted. Your whole family can be proud.
