What is the best way to get moisture out of the inside of a headlight lens assembly that uses halogen bulbs (without removing the lens assembly from the car, if possible)?

For those who are disqusted and are already telling me to try a car forum. Did that, so calm down.
Anyway, I think ive fiqured out that I just need to clean the throttle body on my 03 Avalanche 1500 but Have no idea how its done. Ive looked up a couple of manuals and some seem simple and others overly complicated. Before I go to tearing my engine down just would like someone that may have done it to let me know if you were an amature ,at best, with engines would you even attempt it. Or should I just suck it up and pay someone?0 -
2000 Honda Accord, parked outside for about two months. Started up and drove around today and I'm getting a scraping tick which speeds up as the car speeds up and stops when the car stops. I figured the brake rotors go mighty rusty but I drove around about about 10 minutes and put the brakes on pretty hard several times and it's still doing it.
Aside from the noise, no problems with how the car is operating.

WIfe has a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. 3.3L engine. Went to take the kids to school today, backed out of the drive, put it in drive, and nada. Nothing. Went back and forth between P and D a couple of times and it went into gear. Went to pull out on the road, and again nada. Finally got it in reverse and parked it. Fluid is good. No strange noises or clunks or thuds. Fluid and filter change for starters? Or what??? 0 -
I have a 2004 ford taurus that i parked over the winter now it wont move. Pulled it in my driveway ( very steap incline ) and it sat all winter. It starts just wont go anywere. I pulled the tranny dipstick and it looks like its way over full. I dont get what could have happened from just sitting over the winter. I'm thinking about draining and flushing the trans and trying it then. 0 -
OK my car would not start up the other morning it would turn over but wouldn't start, so i went to work came home and tried it again and it took about 3 tries before it started. i don't think the battery is bad b/c i checked the battery, my lights and everything seem fine no dimming of any kind when trying to start it, even tried jumping it off. so i took the starter to a local shop and they replaced the solenoid on it. NOW the engine doesn't even turn over, the starter just clicks. tried the old tap with a hammer trick, did nothing, all i get is a clicking noise. what else is wrong with the starter? i payed 40$ to get the solenoid fixed, should i try a new battery cause i figure i can always take it back right. the battery is a few years old.

You say it was turning over? Was it turning over fast enough? If so, it wasn't your starter. Sounds like maybe a fuel or spark problem. 0 -
there new sparks plugs and a new thingy that tells your pistons when to fire in it. And a new ingnition switch. forgot to answer th other question it seemed to me it was turning over fast enough, but who knows cause you can still get the engine to turn over with a bad battery but not get a strong enough signal to the starter 0 -
A lot of times the "clicking" noise is due to a bad connection somewhere (corrosion). 0 -
I'll clean them tomorrow when i wake up but the connections weren't corroded on the battery or the alternator end, guess i should of done that first didn't really care to do it since they had none or very little if any. i'll be back tomorrow on here and I'll call that shop to see what they say. maybe a bad solenoid, god i hope so 0 -

Sounds like the connections on the solenoid aren't tight or you got a bad solenoid. Also make sure the strap between the solenoid and the starter is making a good connection.
You did make the correct connections? (sorry had to ask)
If hitting the solenoid works try taking it apart and try polishing the big washer in there (or turning it to a shiny place)
Thats usually all thats wrong with one.
You can "bench test" the starter with a set of jumper cables and a good battery. Just to see if the solonoid kicks the starter gear out and it spins.
If it turned over before it wasn't the starter at that time. Unless the starter was "dragging" (usually happens when the starter gets too hot not when its cold)
need way more info as to why it wouldnt start the first time.
I'm betting on a bad solenoid.

check the grounds, most cars have a ground to frame, and also to the engine.

If it will turn over fairly rapidly, then it has enough "juice" to give you spark. I'd say it was the battery. Get it checked before you do anything else. Eliminate the easy stuff. Bad batteries do weird stuff.

Check for spark, the GM paired coils are notorious for burning out. They cost around $30 from NAPA and they're far better than stock. 0 -
If it was cranking, than there was nothing wrong with your origional solonide.
Next check would be spark and than fuel. Note that your going to spend a lot more money throwing new parts at it, than you would by taking it in to a good shop (You've already admitted that you don't know what your doing).0 -

Well i went out got a new battery and starter (old starter was bad, i had them test it), come to find out i can't move out of park. thinking the ignition switch, this will be the second time i have to replace this crap.
i remember the dealership telling me that the shifter has some type of gear or possible solenoid that can be a problem to that can cause this, anyone know?0 -

ecm...electronic control module. on most cars built after 96, the spark became computer controlled. trace back from the plugs...
plugs, wires, coils, then that spot where the coils sit...that is the control module. it is easy to remove and can be tested separately at any autozone. and it is free. replacement part is between 30-100 bucks and easy to reinstall yourself.0 -
