Just wanting some thoughts on this:
I recently heard a story about a 30 year old man who started dating a 17 year old girl
The girl wants to see him...
The girl's parents do not object to the relationship...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but even if the parents concent, this would still be statatory rape, correct?

yeah, they're "old enough" at that age, but I think the point is about the difference in maturity. -who knows? she might be really mature, and he might be really immature, so they wouldn't be that bad of a couple. ...but that won't last and she can end up screwing up the rest of her life. it can't be a good match. she's not "old enough" to get a start on something like this. 0 -
looking at the Grover Cleveland example, they did have 5 kids and stayed married until he died. it can work out, but come on, what are the odds. not likely. 0 -

I think if you are over the age of 16, there should be some law that says you can only do the hanky panky with someone within ~1-2 years of your own age, once you get over 18, then it doesn't matter -even if it is an 18 year old with an 80 year old rich horn dog?
If two 17 year olds are going at it, and one of them has a birthday, it seems kind of stupid that legally they have to stop going at it until the other one has a birthday.0 -

I have researched the Bible and found NO evidence of any "age of consent" laws or anything to suggest motivation for them. However, the Bible is full of eveidence that would make many "above age laws" immoral.
If some Bible expert can produce something in the Bible that gives direction for appropriate age of sex please do.0 -
