sex offender , what to do ?
We have a sex offender living about 1/2 mile of us. Just how much should I tell my daughter about him? Is it better to just make her understand that he is a bad person and to never be around him ? He is now going to church. I was told he asked God to forgive him and now he is a different person. I know from the state web site he has been jailed 3 times, for serious crimes against children.
So how should I handle this with a 9 year old daughter? Any ideas or suggestions?

MAKE SURE SHE KNOWS HE IS A BAD PERSON !!
You don't have to go into a lot of details . Just make sure she knows he is someone who could harm her !0 -

Some children are male and some female. Did he molest just females or did he molest both sexes? Possibly all the town sons need to be advised.
This may be good or bad advice. Rent one of those "When animals Attack" videos. Show it to your daughter. Ask her what the most dangerous animal is. When she answers show her the sex offender's picture and tell her "this man is more dangerous because he seems normal but is not". Then tell her about him.0 -
My older brother had a convicted sex offender move into his neighborhood. I am not sure how the guy could even afford to live there, but that's not the point. There happen to be some pretty manly guys in the neighborhood that my brother is friends with, one guy has kids, the other doesn't, but the three decided that an appropriate action was to go over and introduce themselves. They told him he was not welcome and not to ever expect to be treated with any dignity, and they also told him "the nieghborhood watch" will react to any situation before 911 is called.
The guy still lives in the nieghborhood but he maintains a very low profile. Every now and then they go visit to let him know they haven't forgot who he is and what he had been convicted of.0 -

Castration is the best option that I can think of in a situation like this...So you figure out who the idiot was that let a three time child molestor out on the street and I'll bring my knife and we'll make sure that this freaking idiot don't freaking reproduce.... 0 -
