Travis...At The Airport, R&R
We picked up Travis at the airport this morning. First time I set eyes on the boy in 8 months.

Dawnie, Caitlin, and Vanessa plan to hand out flowers. They only had about 75 carnations, but there were 107 returning service people on the plane, so they ran out.

Special thanks to Dave W. for showing up to welcome Travis home. Here we see Dave talking with one of the volunteer greeters.

There were A LOT of volunteer greeters, mostly but not all, veterans.

Vanessa greets Travis. She and Caitlin were so busy handing out flowers that Travis sort of sneaked up on them.

Travis calls his mom. After we got out of the airport, we stopped and ate, then came home.
He is resting now. I had to practically insist on it, since he looked dead on his feet.

Thank you David for getting the pics to us quickly. I'll bet there were some pretty un-erasable grins at that 'ol airport.
Also, thanks for the pic of Dave W, haven't seen him for awhile, but I was talking on the phone with him at around 4AM your time.
Welcome home, Travis. We are on YOUR side.

Tell him welcome home for me.
My son decided to wait till his one year was up in So. Korea and come home for a whole month. So I'll have to wait till Aug. to actually have him home again. But we see and talk to him with a web cam a couple times a month.0 -

he is home till june 12th then he goes back till the end of dec so once again we will have christmas in january not because I am working but because Travis will not spend another christmas without family this year....we will all be together..
it was so good to see all those men and women get off the plane each one of them so tired but everyone of them had a smile and a handshake for us..
I told nunn that we need to make it a point to go out there more often and greet the troops and show our support..
I am so glad that we took the girls this is something that they can look back down the road and say hey I was there to support my cousin and they have a knowledge on what is really going on and how scarey it is to send our young men and women to a place like that to protect us.................everyone needs to be very proud of the job that they are doing.........0 -
Very happy to know that he is safe, and unharmed. Hope he is able to stay that way. A good thing yall are doing with handing out the welcome home flowers. A very good thing in deed. 0
