What was the name and breed of your first pet?

Besides the little green turtles and parakeets, my first real pet was a full blooded collie pup (8 weeks old)----I was about 6----he lived about 13 years. I named him "Copper"----from a book I read as a kid that was about a collie named Copper.

    A golden retriever named "Davey". Great dog. The hair pulling and torture he endured from me when i was a baby...horsey rides.. he should have been called a saint golden retriever.

    Ponce and he was a standard, long-haired Dachshund. Dachshunds are the greatest dogs ever: smart, well tempered(when raised properly), and of a manageable size.

    The first one that was "all mine" was a black and white cat that I named Hezekiah. Which means "the LORD has strengthened". Dont ask my why... I was 3 when I named him.. he lived 17 years. He would lay on my stomach while I watched tv and if I tried to get up he would every so slightly dig his claws in to let me know he was not happy about me moving. Naturally he stayed with mom and dad when I moved out and they put him down when his health got too bad. They didnt call me to goto the vet with them and I never forgave them for that.

    A purebred black spaniel named [what else] Blacky. He was chained outside and during a storm lightening hit the chain and killed him. At this time he was kept at my grandparents who wouldn't allow him in the house.I sure miss that little feller![:(]
