I can't do it
I met this really nice 23 year old...because she has a crush on me...she is a fellow student and we went to coffee as a group after class and she invited me to her apartment to try out her computer which turned into takout and a movie suddenly she reveals her crush...this is an attractive female half my age. turns out both her parents are gone (since she was 18) ahe used to date a 42 year old.
as intriqued as I am, I can't see even going down this road...
what do you guys (and girls) think?

Not many succeed in relationships that come with vast differences in ages.
But some do.
It sounds like you don't know this girl very well. If you're curious, get to know her better, and then make your decision. I can imagine that the ego-rush of being the object of desire of somebody half your age (ummm, wait, that's my fantasy) is pretty intense. You could exploit the situation, or you could think about whether a relationship with this girl is what you want.
I'd say....if you're thinking about it, go SLOW. She might be the one for you, and she might not. Of course you could always just get while the getting's good, but that's not very nice.0 -
btw.....your thread name is wrong: "I can't do it" does not capture the question you're asking. "Maybe I shouldn't do it" would be a better name. 0 -
You have one bad knee already right? Girls in their 20's nowadays are WILD. Unless you want 2 bad knees, I'd steer clear. On the other hand, they do make knee braces.[:p] 0 -
she's old enough already. it matters if she's mature enough. 0 -
does she have a sister[8D][}:)][8D] 0 -
My wife is 20 years younger than I am. We have been together 17 years, and married for 10. Things still seem to get better every day. The advice to take it slow is good advice, but try not to focus on the age difference.

I'm glad you posted this PJ, because like I said, some relationships with vast age differences DO work! (Good for you for making it work for 17 years!) I still think every couple needs to think very carefully about how they're going to work together...whether (like my case) it's an age difference of months, or whether (like others) it's an age difference of years.0 -
Some folks can't stand success or good fortune. Maybe you are one of them? 0 -
If she is good looking I'd be all over it![:p][:p][:p]
I for most of my dateing years and while I was married allways seen woman right at the same age or a couple years older than me (my ex was 2 years older than me). I now am seeing someone 10 years younger.
My dad after my parents got divorced about 6 years ago was seeing a 23yo while he was 58.
So again I say go for it!0 -
{SLAP} wake up, what the hecks wrong with you man? 0 -

Don't turn her down flat or string her along just be honest about your feelings or lack thereof and explore the possibilities.0 -
What is the problem?
Like any early relationship, go out with her, and don't have high expectations. It may be that after several dates, you find she is immature and silly.
Or, it may be that you really connect with her.
What is the problem?0 -
Did you get her pregnant? [:D][:D][:D] 0 -
... it's useless without pictures [}:)][}:)][}:)]! 0 -
She is seeking a father figure to fill a void within her. Do you want a mate or a child? It takes two complete humans to make a marriage. One complete and one looking to fill a void is a heartache looking for a place to happen.

Unless you are weird and think if you develop a romantic thing, you will have to marry her, why not? She may well be a very fun, interesting lady.
Of course, if you are like this over 40 guy, 20 something women are generally not attractive to me. Give me a 35-55 year old and I am there.[^]0 -

I would steer clear at least until you are not in the same course with her. Just as you should not date a coworker, a classmate is along the same lines. Don't s--t where you eat.
If it appeals to you later, get-r-dun[:D]0 -
It all depends on the maturity level.

Could be fun even if it doesn't work out into something long term. You only live once, have fun while your here. 0 -

Good Advice! I will add that I have done this twice while in my 40's both 20 year differences. One lasted 1.5 years and the other 10 years and a marriage. Both ended in a lot of heartache and looking back it was a big mistake.[:(]
If you want to have a sexual experience with a young gal then have at it but let them know quickly that its not going any further. With a 20 year age spread once you start to age, a lot, they wake up quickly and say to themselves, (Ooops what am I doing here!). Unless of course you have a potfull of money then in that case they will stick around for the big windfall.[;)][;)]
Not always the outcome but in the majority of the cases this is how it works.[:0][:0][:(]0 -
Be honest with her about your concerns and see where it goes.
---now what i really wanted to say---
Take two ibuprofen, push fluids, start carbo-loading, and be sure to stretch before and after. [;)]0 -
Go for it and have fun. [;)] [:D] 0 -
Go for it, but consider changing your screen name on GB to "Creepy Old Guy".
Since that's what HER friends will be calling you anyway.0 -
