i am sick of this global warming garbarge
i wake up in the morning and sit down toe at breakfeast and read the newspaper. first article is about global warming and how it will kill all poor people in the world. culprit ? america. then i go turn on the tv to watch some sunday football. headline news is on...a story about global warming and how its going to kill everyone. culprit ? america. now i come online and the top story on aol is global warming and how it is going to destroy life as we know it by the end of the century.
yesterday my friend, who lives in western montana, told me his house was under about 8 feet of snow.
this global warming stuff is out of control and is pure fear mongering.
i have decided that from here on out....i dont care one bit about man made global warming. if it happens it happens. life moves on.

If i could go live in a cave I probably would. of course that would not help in saving the world as I would have to heat and cook with an open fire which would cause more carbon output then I use now.
I don't want you to think that I'm a tree hugging liberal looking to change the world, because that is not me I do try to use my utilities, including heat in a manner that is least harmful to the enviorment. I know that we cannot live on this planet and not use what is here for our benefit, I just think maybe we could use it in a manner that is less destructive, maybe give back a little bit where we can. Is a lot of whats happening just the normal ebb and flow of nature, sure. but a lot of it is our doing things that just don't make sense, we cut our forests down without ever thinking of how we can replace them we build houses the same way as they did 200 years ago. where are the improvements in the materials used. why do we have to have a new house every 5 years, why do we need new cars every two years. why are we now in 2007 looking for a car that can get 30MPG, we had that technology years ago. We live in a throw away world where not much has any meaning. We are a nation of hedonists living only to increase our own pleasures, we rarley take into account what that pleasure we seek may cause pain in another. I guess my posts only reflect that I am trying to change my ways (not yours) and that I am trying a different path0 -
The Earth has been warming since the ice age and will continue to warm until the next ice age or cold spell,If you look back through history you will find the earth gets warm then something like a major super eruption happens and it drops again,,,look at when the dinosours roamed the earth,,,it was all warm and rain forrest,they find fossels in the artic of animals that could only survive in warm weather,,it gets warm,,it gets cold,,it gets warm again and nothing but mother nature is going to change it,,,[;)] 0 -

I appreciate that you're not trying to change the size of MY (liberal catchphrase) "carbon footprint".
But many of your questions beg for answers, which I'd love to hear, if you have them.

Plastic? That requires crude oil.
Metal? Mined from the earth, then smelted ,,, environmental disaster!
Concrete? Also mined from the earth.
I don't buy a new car every two years, but if I did, someone would buy my old car and it would continue to be used, not thrown away.
If we build a new house every 5 yrs. someone buys our old house and lives in it instead of building a new house for themselves. It's not as if my old house is bulldozed down and sent to the landfill every 5 years!
Yes, I could recycle more than I do, but the company I work for makes millions hauling garbage to a large canyon in eastern Oregon. So, by not recycling, I'm doing a little bit for my own job security, and the economy![;)]
Seriously now, how do you believe we can change the "path" we're on, without becoming more like the third world countries?

The polar Ice Caps on MARS are melting at a rate nearly identical to those on our planet - how is that America's fault?
There have been five major Ice ages. Only since the last one have there been SUVs.
The amount of Carbon in and on the earth is a CONSTANT - how can we mortals change that?
When I was young, I owned no home, no guns, and no cars. As I got older, I got progressive larger Houses, cars, and more guns. Since more wood is used in each house, I am capturing and isolating more and more carbon. Since I have more and larger Vehicles, I have more fuel in their tanks, holding more carbon out of the environment. I have more guns, so have more and more unburned powder here at my Compound, er facility. That keeps progressively more and more Carbon tied up. Looks like I am doing just what the Greenies want!0 -

I've been staying out of this on purpose, but this argument is garbage and has been garbage since it was first tossed out.
Mars, by itself, is a poor comparison. It couldn't be much more different than our own planet. The warming on Mars is occuring for different reasons than the warming on Earth.
If Earth's Warming (and Mars's) is solar-based, warming would be occuring on ALL planets, not just the 3rd and 4th ones. If warming was happening throughout the Solar System, believe me, we'd have heard all about it.0
