anyone been following this ? GEEEEZ. of all the things in the world she can cry over she chooses this ? i say its a publicity stunt.

    don't give a heck about ellen but a dog or cat deserves someone who belongs to it so they can take care of their people.

    The story I read said they wouldn't give "small" dogs to people with children under 14. Sounds like a stupid rule to me.
    My dog is small & the people at the animal shelter kept steering us back to her. My son was only eight at the time & they told him if we didn't take her they were going to have to put her down as soon as we left as she had already been there too long.

    Like her or hate her, this is not about a dog. It was about the fact that the kids in the family were heartbroken because of the removal of the dog. and the woman from the shelter said " I'm not giving the dog back, after everything we've (mutts and moms) have been put through. to me, she sounds like a mean spirited powertripper.......

    No, it's not about the kids, it is about a hollywierd wacko who feels she does not have to fullfill her end of a contract, and is using her media "status" to demonize the shelter!
    The shelter may well have had another family who had applied for that dog when the dyke did.
    I wonder what you all would be saying if she purchased adopted a child, and passed it on to her hairdresser[:0]........

    The contract was not fulfilled and the people lost the dog. IF they had really wanted to keep the dog they would have contacted M&M and filled out an adoption contract ASAP.

    On the other had IF M&M had allowed the dog to stay it could have caused major issues in the future with any dong that had been adopted and then given away since a precident would have been set.

    Yeah I think it could have been handled differently, but the contract was not fulfilled so its ED's fault.
