I have my Dad's (died in 1966 at the young age of 50)
25 cal-Duo that he brought back from Germany after WWII.
I have a Hi-Standard Double-Nine "Posse" (22 cal.) and a
Colt Frontier Scout '62 w/mag cyl. that I purchased "new"
in the early 60's (never left my possession).
What's your "keepsake" guns that you'll never sell?

I also plan on getting my other grandfather's marlin 60 as I got screwed out of a older, rarer gun that was his and stored at my uncles house that his wife destroyed during their bitter divorce. We all know how I feel about her...[xx(]0 -
I received my fathers guns when he died, which also included my grandfathers and great grandfathers deer rifles. They have unmeasurable sentimental value. 0 -
from my dad I have his model 21 winny, a model 94 saddle ring carbine, a model 62 winchester and a single six ruger ..my own I have the first gun I ever won in a shooting competition, A brand new in the box,never fired, High Standard Sharpshooter and a Browning Sweet Sixteen my Dad gave me on my 16th birthday,Six months later he was killed in a plane crash,these will never leave me,I may even decide to be buried with them [:D] 0 -

Dad's 1951 vintage Savage 99 in 250-3000 which he bought shortly after he came home from the Korean war. In later years for some reason he decorated it somewhat replacing the grip cap and buttplate with ones made from brass. 0 -

Model '97 Winchester, made in 1924, that my dad gave me. It's in very good to excellent shape, except dad cut the barrel to 24" many, many years ago and had it threaded for Briley choke tubes, and installed a Pachmayr recoil pad. The sentimental value is beyond the realm of dollar amounts.
Most of my other guns are muzzleloaders I've built or Mausers I've re-stocked. Any of them, if circumstances were right, I'd give away, but I don't try to sell guns I've built for myself. On the occasions I've been shooting something and someone has asked if I might want to sell, as soon as I've indicated it's possible the person asking has started in with the flea market tactic of treating what I've got as overpriced junk. The conversations that follow are very short and don't end well.0 -
Stevens 94C - first gun (my brother gave it to me).
Dad's K-38 Combat Masterpiece he carried on duty. Made in 1955, diamond target grips, with a patridge front sight with McGivern gold bead. Also, his original Don Hume "Deputy" holster.
Dad's Mod. 11 Remington with 32" mod. and 26" IC barrels (matched #).
Ruger Mk I T512, Bi-Centennial. Will never get rid of it because 30 years ago a buddy of mine tried to buy it for $35.00. I refused. He said "one of these days you are going to get in a tight, and I will give you $35.00 for it. Been in tight spots moneywise a few times since, but never considered selling it!!! Plus, it is one of my fun guns.
Side note on my dad. When he graduated from the police academy, that was the first (and only that I know of) time a son graduated before a father. They let my brother present dad with his certificate.[:D]0 -
An 1873 trapdoor carbine (Long ago cut down from a rifle). My grandfather gave it to me & he got it from his father. I have already promised it to my grandson. 0 -
Ithica Feather Weight, Model 37, 16ga. It belonged to my grandfather and then my fathers. Hopefully baring any accidents, it will make it to my son and so on. 0 -
