Well in my movie flick experience it has been Handguns and single shot semi's, and the occasional shotty
edit: forgot landmines, grenade/grenade launchers[:D], and my favorite bazooka0 -
Chainsaw for super close quarters.
12 ga. 00 buckshot for not so close quarters.
.45ACP for stuff that's just slightly too far for the 12 ga.
.308 for medium to long range.
.50BMG for medium to long range.
25mm for long to extremely long range.
30mm for long to extremely long range.
155mm for extremely long range.
205mm for extremely long range.
B-52H for all of the above.0 -
A mixture of weapons is wanted for a team since alone your chances of making it are slim to none.
1-2 semiauto rifles, preferably .223 or .308., for long range zombie killing.
2-3 handguns. Revolvers are good for reliability, semiautos are good for capacity. Try to keep it over .40 caliber. Handguns are for close quarters or if you're in a vehicle.
1-2 shotguns or pistol-caliber carbines. Short- to medium-range firepower in case some of them manage to get past your rifle fire and those with handguns are otherwise engaged (reloading, shooting at something closer, fighting for their lives, etc.)
And everyone should be armed with some sort of melee weapon. In my opinion, nothing beats a nice length of pipe. It doesn't need sharpening and the chances of it breaking are slim to none.
So best case scenario is you have a group of people 4-7 strong armed with a mixture of weapons that compliment each other.
Avoid flame throwers (they don't work fast enough), explosives (too much of a chance of something going wrong), or anything that you can't find ammo for (Barretts look cool, but try finding .50 BMG ammo when all hell has broken loose).0 -

Shotgun - it's a man for all seasons. For those headshot zombies, a 12 gauge makes it hard to miss. It will also stop a raging biker raider in his tracks. 0 -
Mk 19 with HEDP, gets them every time, but it can make a mess 0 -

im gonna have to go with a 12 gauge shotty, any brand, and its gotta have slugs! definately a handgun for some up close wet work, and im gonna go with an AK-47. when z day comes, your going to have to be on the move, and i personally dont want to have to spend more than 5 minutes cleaning my gun. and i really dont see the need for more than a 50-60 yard shot. 0 -

The only real problem is that sometimes I severely injure the innocent, and every so often, myself.
The other problem is that saying, "Oiiiiiiiii" and closing my eyes while engaging my primary weapon does provide a weakness that the enemy can take advantage of, mostly on timing.0 -
Double headed ax. When in a dire situation like facing a zombie horde, I prefer a weapon that doesn't rely on ammunition. And the double headed ax gives you the ability to attack with both the forward and return swing. 0 -
I'll have to go with the 3/4 ton pickup, 5" lift kit and 36 inch mudders. You can mow them down, and you don't have to worry about the ones that you don't kill because they are slow and you can just drive away from them. Gas is plentiful and you have room for the eventual hottie who comes along. Plus, it has room for a two-gun gun rack in the back window. 0 -
