If You Had To Choose....Handgun vs Longun ?

if you could only shoot one for the rest for the rest of yoru life would you choose rifles or handguns ?

    I would prefer a rifle. However, there is more to this than meets the eye.

    I use a rifle for deer and coyote hunting. I can legally harvest one deer a year where I live in Maine. Coyote has no limit but I do not eat them and hunt them for recreation.

    I carry a handgun 365 days a year. It is much more convenient to carry a handgun than a long gun.

    Therefore the handgun is the firearm of choice. That one deer a year or a couple of coyotes a year can be taken with the handgun.

    I could accomplish many, many tasks with the shotgun. Defense and hunting, great combination.

    No doubt in my mind ... I'd go with a lever action .22 ... probably a Winchester Annie Oakley Commemorative or second choice: a Marlin Golden 39A Mountie. And LOTS of ammo!
