We all believe our faith will get us to heaven but The Bible says that many will be cast down even having performed miracles and casting out demons in the name of Jesus so maybe you missed the point and your faith wasn't enough. So...suppose the rapture comes and you are still here...you know the bible and this is your wake up call. you refuse to accept the mark of the beast because you know it will damn your soul to hell. according to the Antichrist now in control you cannot buy or sell with out the mark. people are hunting you... police have your name on a list.... I could write a book about this call it "Still here"

When i was working i was the lead maintenance person for my department. The Project manager would tell everyone i was the hardest working person he has ever seen. I would work 40 or 50 hours at a time on several occasions to make sure the job got done.
Well another company offered me the job to be project manager and my boss told me that if i stayed i would get his job when he moved up. When he moved up someone else got the job instead of me. I asked why i did not get the job and he told me that if i got the job who would get the work done. I cussed him out because he went back on his word. He told me i make more money than anyone in the company. Why take a pay cut to be a manager? I told him i have worked harder than anyone in the company. I am out on berevment and you call me to work. I never told you i could not come in and fix something. I told him it was like a slap in the face. Along with lots of cuss words.
Now i cant work and he has been trying to come see me and i keep telling him i dont feel like company. He always asks my friends how i am doing. Would you let him visit. I guess i am getting soft.0 -
Went to pickup some venison summer sausage today at the local smokehouse.
I walked in told the gal my name and after a minute she said sir the total will be $103.01. I gave her 2 $50 bills and a $5 bill, $105 total. She put all 3 bills under the register drawer. I didn't pay much attention cause I was starving and that place always smells great!!
Anyway I noticed she was counting out quite a bit of $$$ for my change. I immediately thought she must have thought I gave her 3 $50 bills. So I told her mam I think your giving me too much change. So she looked under the drawer and saw that I gave her 2 $50s and 1 $5.
She looked embarassed then recalculated my change at $1.99, so I gave her a penny and she gave me $2.
Went home with a smile on my face cause my summer sausage was done 5 days before they said it would be when I dropped it off last thursday.[:p]0 -
My dad went to a local medical supply store and bought a raised toilet seat for my mom who recently had a stroke. They asked me to install it and when I got instructions out is clearly states that it will not fit all commodes. Now they will not give him his money back as there policy. They are on a fixed income so I bought it off them.
I took it down and explained to the employee and asked to talk to owner who had to make the call. Owner would not speak to me. I left the seat there and said its useless to me.
Question: if you owned the building that overlooks this medical company's parking lot would you put up a sign? [:(!]......what would you do?0 -
Has anyone in here ever been invited somewhere, and then be unvited by someone else that would be attending the same place?
Sad to say, but this happened to me. I ended up not going because I do not like conflict.

My dad is 73 and in good health but every time i see him he is trying to give me some of his guns. About half of them are mine from when i was a kid. I got 3 a year from 6 untill i was 18. I left my guns and other things at his house when i went in the Air Force. I dont feel comfortable taking things from him even though some of the things are mine. He says take them that i will get them when he dies anyway. I already have all of the guns i need. What would you do? Thanks David 0 -
My wife has a DAR function this morning and took both kids! I have the house to myself for almost 5 hours! I was thinking make a batch of beer, take a (uninterupted) nap, watch an action move REALLY loud in the theater.
The world is my oyster!

Posted on another forum (motorcycle).
I just cut and pasted.
Say somebody wearing a full face helmet comes up to you after you have just put the keys in the ignition, pulls out a handgun and asks you to dismount and back away and after you have done so, starts the bike and rides away.
If you are also carrying a handgun, can you legally shoot the thief in the back and kill him, without being prosecuted by the police.
I know every state has different laws, so this is directed to people who live in one where it is permitted to carry a handgun on ones person.0 -
My closest nieghbor has a grown boy. About 24 yrs old.
Called me at my shop said he needed to see me about something.
When he showed up he had his deer rifle with him.
He said he has done something stupid and needed 100.00 bucks.
Take the rifle and dont tell dad PLEASE!! He said.
Now...the boy ain't into drugs or booze...I know him and the family very well. I gave him 125.00 for the rifle. I know he has been looking for a job hard and doing side work for everybody in town.
Reckon I should have a talk with his Pa? He has had that rifle for as long as I have known him. Just can't figure what the young man has gotten himself into. When I asked him, how stupid a thing, he just looked at his feet and said REAL stupid. Real good folk..church going.

1st of all, the areospace job didn't happen. It may have been one of the best interviews of my life, but my lack of recent CMM (coordinated measuring machine)experience kept it from happening.
So I let a friend who is a manager at WalMart pull a favor and get me a seasonal job in one of the stores near me (not his store). It's a job and all work is noble. but, the pay stinks. From what they are telling me though, there could be some future advancment there for me. And they could be blowing smoke up my butt too. I went through orientation thursday start my regular work there on monday morning.
advantages: 7 miles from home mostly country roads, 15 minute commute.
Yesterday I was out for the day. One of my former employers competitors left 2 messages on my machine. The guy even left his home phone number for me to call him. Now I left my former employer in part due health concerns over cleaning chemicals (trichlorethelene) they were using. They possibly were a factor in my sudden develpment of moderatly severe asthma. Since leaving my old shop I've been in several other shops with no breathing problems. I've only been in one that gave me trouble while I was there. If I return to my old shop to visit, my breathing becomes difficult within 15 minutes and lasts for a day even though I've left the place. I've also managed to get off 2 of the 3 medications I was taking while working in the shop.
advantage: $12.00-$15.00 an hour to start + a decent benefit package, A fixed schedule for work hours.
disadvantages: 30 mile heavy traffic commute lasting 40-60 minutes each way. Possible return of health problems. The guy leaving his home number makes me suspicious that he's desparate, and I wonder why, especially in this economy, decent inspectors are a dime a dozen.
I'm feeling the temptation to take the lazy mans route and go back to being a QC inspector. Unfortunately that could possibly jeapordize the friendship of the guy that called a favor to get me the job. I've managed to keep myself going for 4 months. I've been tardy with a couple bills, but haven't missed any. I'd keep doing that if I stay with Wally world. The commute to and from the machine shop would take away much of the time I have to pursue that endevor. There is also the health factor in the back of my mind. I could go back into the machine shop and have insurance, but the job itself would be the cause of most of the need for insurance. I can get some illness insurance from walmart for $15.00 evey 2 weeks.
My fiance' Bev's oppinion is I should stick with what I have and build up the online antique business and keep doing odd jobs. Using the summer of work at WalMart as an opportunity to pour money into the business. Getting it built up to where it could support us by itself.
What would you do???

I was talking to one of the branch managers of the company I work for
the other day, (we work in different states) we frequently chat about
our firearms, he asked me if santa brought me the OU I was talking about
I told him no, I would have to go shopping for one, but now I am leaning
toward a semi auto (a cheap one) Well out of the clear blue he
offers to give me his New Remington 11-87! I told him I would buy it, he
said no he would rather give it to someone who would use it! (and I
will!) I am still kind of in shock [:D]! The gun is on its way to me now
and I have been thinking of sending him a thank you gift of some kind
anybody have any suggestions?[?]

So, tonight, my wife and I were checking out at the grocery store. There was a lady in front of us checking out. I was standing directly behind her.
She tried to pay for her groceries using 2 different credit/debit cards. Neither one was accepted. They tried multiple times.
She finally told the cashier to try to put $70 on one of the cards, and that amount was accepted. That left her $14 and some odd cents to pay, and neither one of her cards would be accepted. When she checked her check book, she was fresh out of checks.
What would you do?
I stepped up, and said, "Ma'am, let me do something for you..." and I swiped my card and paid for her $14 worth of groceries.
I told her to pay it forward. I left with a smile on my face. It felt good to help.0 -

Today i was in and accident with my 2001 Dodge Ram. A flagman for a road crew waved a ford econoline van thru a stop sign and directly in front of me. I could not stop in time because of the short distance which was about ten yards. I was traveling approximately 40 miles and hour because it was a rural back road. Impact was around 35 miles an hour as i layed on the brakes. Needless to say I T-boned the van pretty good but in the process my truck is totaled or near totaled. Upon impact my airbags did not deploy leaving my son and I with injuries.
Although the road crew was only about 20 feet away from us, they did not attempt to help anyone nor did they come to see if anyone was hurt. Because the front end of my truck was pushed back into the doors,we were trapped inside until the van driver and his passenger bent one of the doors back so we could get out. The electric windows were useless because the battery was damaged. All the road crew did was gather up in a group and we assume they were discussing their strategy to cover for the flagmans mistake. Shortly thereafter they went on filling in the cracks of the road with tar.
The trooper that investigated the accident did not cite myself or the van driver. He did state that he believed us and went after the road crew. I do not know what action if any he took against the flagman.
What do you think i should do about the ignorant action of the flagman and the airbags that did not deploy? Bear in mind that I received two broken fingers, blunt trauma to the lower abdomin and also to both knee caps. We are also observing our son for a mild concussion.
Should i file lawsuits or should I let the insurance companies fight it out?
[It was a real bummer watching my $32,000 truck mangled up like that and towed away!]0 -

OK Two nights ago wife sick and needed to go to the hospital. I called my mother to come sit with kids while we where off to the emergency room. About Midnight we get out and are on our way home. We stop by the 24 hr, Mc Donalds for a burger and head on. Within minutes of turning off the main road on our way to our rural farm a car comes flying right up beside me and stays right even with me door to door while Ilook in the rear view and there is another on my tail. I try to speed up and they match me the whole time easing toward me. I slow down they do the same so I floor it and get the jump on them and get in front of them. Then the scary part is they try this same thing only this time with my wife between us. Eventually when an on coming car comes they both turn off. Now I was not carrying at the time but I promised my self and my wife this would be the last. When she who is not crazy about the idea asked what I would have done differently I told her I would have stopped the car. And in the event they had stopped anyone who had gotten out of there car would have been fired upon immediately. I did not like the feeling of being hunted or prayed upon and I will be honest this scared the hell out of me. I realize there is a chance this was a car full of kids playing a prank but The thought of someone hurting my wife and never getting home to my kids is more than I am willing to bear. But I am curious if most of you where in this position what would you have done. PS I did call 911 but they never did show and there was now hwere I was willing to wait being unarmed. 0 -
Well, last Thursday, I was informed, through an MRI, that I have yet another herniated disc in my back. (L4-L5)This is my third time having this happen and have had to have surgery the previous two times. The last one left me with permanent damage to my sciatic nerve which causes constant tingling and numbness in my left leg. While it hasn't prevented me from doing my job, the pain is gradually getting worse and is starting to affect my right leg. Now, I have three choices, do nothing and HOPE it doesn't cause further damage and treat with pain meds, have an epidural steroid injection and HOPE it relieves the pain, or have a third surgery, which would require the fusion of three vertebrae and end my career. I am only 35, don't want to give up my job and sure as hell do not want to go on disability. Whatever choice I make, there is a good chance it will leave me with limited mobility and further nerve damage. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. 0 -
My wonderful girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married. There was only one little thing bothering me. It was her beautiful younger sister.
My prospective sister-in-law was twenty-two, wore very tight
miniskirts, and generally was braless. She would regularly bend down when she was near me, and I always got more than a pleasant view. She never did it when she was near anyone else.
One day "little" sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered to me that she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn't overcome. She told me that she wanted to make love to me just once before I got married and committed my life to her sister.
Well, I was in total shock, and couldn't say a word.
She said, "I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me."
I was stunned- frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs. She pulled off her panties and threw them down the stairs at me. I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to The front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car. Lo and behold, my entire future family was standing outside, all
clapping!
With tears in his eyes, my future father-in-law hugged me and said, "We Are very happy that you have passed our little test.....we couldn't ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family."
And the moral of this story is:
Always keep your condoms in your car.0 -

You are going to a family reunion at a large campground. You plan on doing some target shooting. You get to the gate and they tell you not only is shooting not allowed, but that guns are not allowed in campground and must be put in the gun safe in the main gate station. Would you tell them about all 7 guns in the truck? (You haven't mentioned shooting so they don't know that you have them.) Would you tell them that you do not have any guns? Would you tell them that you have 6 and keep one for protection?
What would you do?
I should mention that this is a private campground, not federal or public land.0 -
My friend Jody works at a nursing home. Sometimes I go and hang out with her there.
There's a resident there that always ask me for a smoke. He's not allowed to have them and I don't smoke so he's been out of luck.
I recently found out he has very little visitors, but's he's the sweetest old man I think I've met, next to my granpa.
Well I've started buying and sneaking him cigarettes when I visit. These nursing home residents are just standing around waiting to die anyway, so why not make his last few days a good one?
Am I wrong here? Honestly.0 -
Ok I'm in this pawn shop looking at guitars, like I need another one, when I notice the pawn shop guy fiddling with a single action .22 revolver. He's trying to get the cylinder out of it but it won't budge. I asked if I could take a look and he says, "sure", and hands it to me. I look at it and the firing pin is protruding so far that the cylinder is hanging on it. The pawn shop guy says he's not interested as the revolver is obviously broken. I asked the lady does she want to sell it. She says yes but the pawn shop guy says take it outside, she can't sell it in here. I wait around because she has two cheap survival knives that pawn shop guy is looking at but he's not interested. Anyway, the lady and her mom meet me in the parking lot. She wants $100 for the revolver. I tell her under the circumstances I'd give her $40 for it and take my chances. She wants $50 and says she'll throw in one of the knives. Nope, $40 take it or leave it. She takes the $40 and once I get home I get it all apart and the spring is missing off the part that rotates the cylinder. The hand I think it's called. One of those deals where you point it at the floor and it rotates the cylinder and locks up fine. So I get on the net and find the piece I need, $25 and some change including shipping. Still only in the gun about $65 or so but I think I did okay. Oh and no it wasn't a Colt, just an FIE but still a solid little revolver. So would you buy a gun with obvious problems if you got a deal on it? Oh and it came with a leather holster that looks like it fits a 1911 type handgun. I'm thinking the holster may be worth $40 by itself. Just wondering. 0 -

I know what I will do, but I am curious as to what everyone else would do.
Supposed you found a 9 year old home that you liked and made an offer that was accepted. Then suppose another house came on the market that was 10% cheaper, BRAND new (a previous deal fell through), same builder as the one you are buying too and in a neighborhood that you liked better for a VERY comparable house.
Ok now suppose there is a contract technically that you could use to legally get out of the original contract with no (financial) liability.

Here is the scoop. We have a little girl in town here. (Town of 1000 people.) She is 7 years old. I have no idea what her parents are doing, but she is running the streets all hours of the day and night. She get into trouble, she will steal my daughters bike and ride it around town. She is in the same class as my daughter. So the info I get from my daughter is that her grandma is supposed to be watching her. I have talked with the local PD and they have had a talk with her mom more than once. I know they are doing thier job, but apparently it's not getting through to her mom. I want to go further with this, but not sure I should. I am afraid that her mother may be a little abusive and might hurt her physically. I do not want to have that happen. I have thought of contacting Child Protective Services, but hate to see dis-located children also. I have a neighbor that thinks I may be a little to strong felt on this issue, and that it's not my problem. What do you all think.
Sorry my info may be hard to fallow. I am typing and a little pissed right now about all this.0 -
Ive been married for a little over 7 years now. My wife and I have a three year old together. We cant even be in a room together anymore without fighting. She has made the comment on several occasions that She doesnt care what I want or think. She has also told me to get the F out of her life several times. She is going to live life her way. She even said she knows what she is doing is wrong but she doesnt care. I know she is going through something. She is 31 years old and talks on the phone for hours like she was a teenager. She avoids any responsibility like it was the plague. If she ever has to pick me up from somwhere she averages an hour late. She just says stuff like "oh well, too bad". Her lack of respect thought and responsibility is becoming too much of a burden for me. If it wasnt for my son I would have been long gone. Ive changed/ matured over the last seven years and she just hasnt. She lives in her own little blissfull world that is all about her. Between going to school and taking care of a houshold and her its enough to really make someone crazy. I know some of you had to be in similar situations and Im just wondering what you did and why. Im at the end of my rope on this one. I just dont want to do the wrong thing. Thanks for allowing the vent.

I got a bill today for 3 hours of snowblowing and plowing from work I had done in january, Total cost $135. Also a load of driveway stone that came to $80. On the bottom the total was $170.
I know how much I am going to pay. What would you do?0 -
Halve of this is my fault---the other half is the seller's fault.
Shopping for a particular pair of Skecher sandals and bought a new pair at low bid (only bidder) for $35.00 with free shipping.
Now, sandals arrive---not the same as the ones pictured in the ad---open toe was pictured---closed toe was received which I don't care for. (preposition, I know)
Seller's description (which I'll admit I didn't totally read) stated "closed toe".
I bought them primarily by the picture because it was exactly the style I wanted.
What would be an amicable ending to this?0
