Do you prefer Blue, Plated, or Stainless
I love stainless guns for their corrosion resistance, and I have seen some nice plated guns, but a deep polished blue finish goes straight to my heart. I'm not talking a mat blue or dip blue, I'm talking that old deep polished blue that used to come on Colts, Winchesters, Brownings, Remingtons and Smith & Wessons from the factory.
What gun finish do you like?

Blue and wood if I want to look at it,
Stainless and synthetic if I want to shoot it0 -
It depends on the gun,
I like Nickle plating on S&W revolvers.
I like stainless on anything that is going to get used often.
I like blue on rifles.0 -
Blue.
But a little bit of wood never hurt anyone.0 -
None of the above... I like mine color case hardened[^]

You're darn right I do. Case hardend too on some things. 0 -
Usually, for me, a deep rich blue is my preference. I think that stainless has its palce too, like my .44M scoped Hunter. Great all weather whitetail gun. But, all in all, I prefer blue. ghs 0 -
Stainless, polished not flat. the flat does hold up to the humidity very well i have noticed. i have 2 dehumidifiers in the safe and wipe everything down with a lightly oiled rag before they go in the safe and still i get spotting on the flat mat stainless. 0 -
I like and own a few of each....Deep blue guns are really nice to look at, but stainless is hard to beat too.. 0 -
+1 on DHEFF. 0 -
1) Blue
2) Stainless
In that order, I guess.0 -
Blue is beautiful and the pistols are usually noticibly lighter than stainless. Stainless is, however, more practical.... 0 -
Blue and wood only. Very seldom do I see a stainless peice that I like. 0 -
Well then, you ain't seen mine...[}:)] 0 -
I like the look of all the finishes, but if I had to pick, I'd say blued w/ a nice walnut stock. Then maybe a nice polished nickel or stainless. 0 -

Blue Steel and Walnut for me. That's how I tell mine from the wife's: hers are stainless/synthetic. 0 -
Then again, every household needs at least one that is parkerized. 0 -
Like people, I don't care about the color of the "skin", just whether they're good caliber.[:D] 0 -
Blue or stainless - nickel plating doesn't do it for me, though. 0 -
I really like blue and walnut.

Parkerized and dark stained wood or black (either metal or synthetic). 0 -
Blue and wood are for guns. Stainless is for kitchen utensils. Case hardened is for nostalgia. Parkerized for military. Plated for cheap jewelry. 0 -
I love the look of blued with walnut furniture, I however hunt pretty hard and I feel terrible when I scratch it. Therefore all of my hunting guns are stainless, except my upland gun. 0
