Yes, but it still has to be reduced to paper, and Dawnie is the custodian of the printer, and very jealous of it. Actually, she knows how to work it and I don't.
Since I don't take Paypal or card payments, and gun buyers have to mail payment, they might as well mail the FFL at the same time, no?0 -

Oh, maybe I was being overly sensitive. I have listed items before that had obviously come from police property rooms, either evidence guns or surplus service guns. Some people have seen my offerings and just assumed that I diverted them from the local property room, when in fact I had bought them from agencies several states away.0 -

Well, yes or maybe no. I have a digital photograph of my dealer's FFL. I can have payment in the form of a check on it's way the next time the mail runs. If I have to send an original signature hard copy of the FFL I have to drive to the store (30 miles) at time that he's open, and trust him to mail the payment in a timely manner.0 -

Henry, since you have the FFL stored on your computer, you could print out a hard copy and mail it, no?

When I have a lot of things coming off line....it cuts down on the confusion GREATLY to have the FFLs sent with the payment. That is why I like them to come together. It isn't always possible to get things like I like them....so I work around what I can.
But just imagine.....Five auctions of your ending...three faxed FFLs....two mailed by themselves. Nobody giving any type of clue on the faxed ones WHAT the heck it is for. Not only your auctions to deal with....but transfers for other people who are BUYING from other sellers. You get e-mailed FFLs sometimes and they have managed to send you an ENORMOUS picture of something that when you print it out it only gets the top left corner of the FFL....useless.
It is easy to say...."you should do things this or that way"...but unless you are actually dealing with it all you just don't realize what a pain it can be. Its like a little kiss on the cheak from Jesus himself when I open a letter and have a check and FFL inside.0 -
Boy, no kidding! Right now, there is a FFL copy on my desk that arrived with no reference to any customer, any auction, or any particular item.
Sometimes, I get a check or money order with no reference to the item purchased or which FFL to ship to. I think the next time that happens, I will do as I have threatened to do, and treat it as a gift.
I plainly state that I am to receive payment, FFL copy and ITEM DESCRIPTION, in the auction, and in the email I send when it closes. Some folk just can't or won't read, I reckon.0 -

Yep. I did that on a handgun that I bought awhile back. I emailed a high quality picture and included a clearly printed out copy with the payment. The seller claimed it was fuzzy, but I figured with a 3 meg photo he surely could have figured it out.
I wasn't bidding on the one that requires an FFL anyway, I was interested in this one but it's gone beyond my budget at this point.0 -

I am confused. In your description of the hammerless 38, you say it can be shipped to anyone without an FFL. You also say it has to be shipped to an FFL.0
