What are your picks for the top three Rock Bands of all time and why?

#1 Beatles - They changed everything!
#2 Led Zepplin - one song - Stairway to Heaven
#3 Moody Blues - What can I say I'm an lod hippie from the 70s!
First Alternate - Chicago - Love that big band rock sound. Is there anything better then holdig her close and dance to Color My World? Well yeah I guess there is one thing.....

top three rock bands? that's difficult... would have to leave out hendrix and black sabbath, they were most influential but not really rock bands.
#1 has gotta be Led Zepplin.

Really not fair! I have about 200 "favorite" bands and I can point out how most every one of them has been a great influence on what came after, or what is being played today. The Beatles deserve mention, but they were a little "wimpy" for my tastes, thus the Who nomination! I saw Pete when he was still in his early 30's...GOD, what a freak of nature on a guitar! You also had the feeling he might go up in the air for one of those jumping punctuation marks on a guitar riff, and just maybe never come down again?!0 -
