You surely don't think the liberal media is anxious to give the NRA a chance to address the public do you? At least not while public opinions are being molded. Wait until everyone is thinking the worst about guns and gun ownership, are mad and want to direct their anger at someone. THEN the liberal media will contact the NRA and let them address the public. 0 -

I don't buy it, if they made any statement, it would be all over the media, and spread via the net, and why would they wait for the media to contact them?

Yes where is the NRA??????? They the nra has enough money to buy air time, Again where is your beloved NRA.[V][V][V][V][V]
Im sure a lot of people can make up a lot excuses why they dont do any thing again.0 -
When they came out right after Columbine, they were demonized relentlessly. I would bet that they are formulating a careful response and will release it at the appropriate time. 0 -
I really don't think it would be in the NRA's best interest to speak up right now. It would show an uncarring, politics first, side to the organization, you don't need to be a career politician to figure out that right now, the only thing anyone should be speaking about in regards to the incident is sympathy to the familys.
Now I don't know about you but the last thing I want is the NRA to issue any kind of appology for todays incident. I want them to keep thier mouths shut and write some speaches to present before congress, business as usual perhaps.0 -
They likely fear being criticized and beat up by the lefties. Pathetic that they seem to have no balls at all.
Integrity = doing the right thing, no matter who is watching, or how difficult it is.
NRA Integrity Grade thus-far = ZERO0 -

Hopefully the public is seeing the Brady Campaign in that light.0 -

Agreed, as that would be in their (and ours) best interest at this time0 -
I have found very little reporting about guns. There were a few errors that it might have been an automatic weapon but not much more. Seems like more people are focusing on police procedures and the lack of a total lockdown.
Perhaps if there were more negative press about guns they may speak up. No point in bringing it up if it's not being made an issue.0 -
My guess is the NRA is waiting for the FACTS to come out before they engage in incorrect speculation. The left doesnt care about the facts because they dont even need to know them. They just want ALL guns banned

I was watching Larry King and the reporter they had in the field did briefly talk about the weapons used. He said they had confirmed the shooter used a .22 and a 9mm pistol. Nothing more was said on it.0 -

Said it better than I could.0 -
The N.R.A is waiting for all the facts to come in.Kind of like the G.O.P. and the Dems. What can you defend without facts? 0 -
Unlike some, it is always possible that the NRA might actually want to know what they are talking about before they start making statements. It's a novel idea, but some people actually look for information before they state their opinion. 0 -
You people sound like a bunch of cackling LIBERALS. Why does the NRA have to make a statement? That being said they DID make a statement....so suck it up and go on whining about something else...

The nra is in the back room smoking cigars, drinking burbon and branch water. Thinking about how to correctly word their response, for their next fundraiser 0 -

I think their strategy is the correct one. Say and offer nothing until the entire story unfolds and more specifics become available. Anything else might backfire on them and us at this point in time.0 -

+1. Sometimes the best coarse of action is to do nothing or wait for the best opportunity.0 -
This should not be a case against Legal gun ownership, but a case against a person here on a STUDENT VISA from another country that got access to handguns and ammunition more than likely ILLEGALY. 0 -

Oh come on. You know what the Usual Suspects are going to say in retaliation, don't you?
Obviously, we need to ban all guns, because the current laws don't work. There are more guns in this country than people. Blah blah, blah blah blah, blah blah blah.0 -

Well gee "Chuck", you sure whine and complain a lot about the NRA. What have you done for the NRA, OR ANY PROGUN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION? Have you spent any time, money or effort in helping ANY progun rights organization try and fight for your gun rights? Or is all you do is post complaints about how the NRA doesn't act like you want it to? Mean while just sitting on your guns, ammo, and time while others do the best we can to fight for yours and our gun rights.0 -

I was especially offended by the public comments from various entities in Europe. Very unsympathic and criticial of America and our "love affair with guns" and our "gun culture". Pretty hypocritical since those B@$+ards have pretty much disarmed ALL their lawful, peaceful citizens yet they STILL have violent crime. Only the lawful citizens have to fight back with broom handles and the like.0 -
I have heard an NRA spokes person on the raido responding to this shooting several times this morning. They are there if you chose to hear them.

...POSSIBLY THEY ARE WAITING FOR THE FACTS SO THEY DON'T GO OFF HALF-COCKED LIKE SOME OF LIBERALS IN HERE AND ELSEWHERE, SHOOTING THEIR MOUTH BEFORE THY HAVE THE FACTS. JESUS, 30 SOME PEOPLE DEAD BECAUSE OF A PIECE OF SH** AND YOU WONDER WHERE THE NRA IS(WAS).
THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE OF GUN CONTROL, ASSAULT WEAPONS, OR WEAPONS WITH DESTROYED SERIAL NUMBERS...THIS IS ABOUT ONE SUBJECT WHO DECIDED TO KILL PEOPLE. WHETHER IT BE BY A WEAPON OR A FAST MOVING CAR THROUGH A CROWDED STREET MARKET, DEAD IS DEAD AND ONE PERSON IS RESPONSIBLE.
HOPE THE REST OF YOUR DAY IS FINGER-POINTING FREE.[:D]0 -
How many of you have checked their web-sight?
