Have you ever been on TV or in a movie?
I was 'almost' in a movie.
Several years ago when I was OTR trucking, myself and another driver from my company, picked up loads at the same shipper, bound for the same receiver in Sylmar Calif. This was a regular run for our company that they used to get drivers from the area (of the shipper) loads out after having been off at home. We drove out to Calif. as a 2 truck "convoy".
Upon reaching Sylmar the night before our scheduled delivery date, we dropped one trailer and bobtailed to local favorite diner to eat supper. We walked right in the door to find the place under some kind of construction. And were quickly told that they were closed due to preparations for a movie scene being shot on lcation there the next day. The Movie was "Nurse Betty" and it was the truckstop scence (supposedly set ina Ks. truckstop) at the beginning of the movie. They were putting up all kinds of Kansas signs & stuff (Ks lottery, etc).
We told the director that we were actual Kansas truck drivers (which we were. I now live in Ok.) and we would be PERFECT extra's. He agreed and told us to come back in the AM.
We were there and watched the scene being filmed. Saw Chris Rock and Morgan Freeman. But evidently did not make the final cut and do not appear in the movie that I've noticed.

TV a couple of times, for the department dive team. I learned real quick to make sure someone else got the "glory" of going on the nightly news to explain what we had done.
Maybe that explains why they made Undersheriff and Captains.
Found a hand grenade underwater and AFT took the glory for that one.0 -

My name is Joe. I shot in the first "shotgun" show and beat all the guys there. That show ended with Aaron, a deputy from Lincoln Neb, and I going to the shoot house and hunting each other. I got him in the end and came back a month later to tape my second show.
In the second show I shot against the cop with the cane, also a "Joe". He was allowed to bring a buddy from his dept to help him as he was shot in the ankle on the job after taping his first show. I made it to the end of the second show where I was eliminated in the last event shooting against the "injured" Joe's buddy.
I think you were watching the grand finale where each shooter used 5 guns. Injured "Joe" was eliminated in the last finale. A cop won the whole thing in the end.
Here is a picture of me with the injured "Joe" and his partner. Iam in the center with the other Joe on the left with his cane and his partner on the right. Thats the tower we shot from in the background.

I was in a movie called "Tribes" back in 1970. I had no part except marching in formation. 0 -
I was in Jump School back when they were filming "Your Mother Wears Combat Boots."
I was also on CNN back in 94 when we loaded up the planes to do an Airborne Assault into Haiti. We got called back when we were in the air though. Friggin Jimmy Carter!!![:(!]0 -
In my office if you get your picture on T/V or in the News Paper you have to buy the office pizza. I have had to buy pizza a couple of times.
Back in 1984 I was working for a small Police Department near Galveston Texas. A movie was being filmed there called Lethal Injection. A lot of us in the PD were used as extras. The Screen Actors Guild required them to pay us a dollar each for every officer who played a part. I still have my dollar, and it is autographed buy Aldo Ray who was staring in the movie. Even back then Ray was beyond his prime, and he was about the only star appearing in the movie. The movie was never released that I know of.

bobski,
I work with a Detecive (Todd Slate) who claims he too was on the Enterprise during the last scene of Top Gun. I wonder if you two could have known each other?

I was on the local news (Minneapolis-St. Paul) when I was a kid for winning a reading contest in 4th grade. I got to meet Rod Carew.
I was also on the local news in Pittsburgh for "risking my life"[:D][:D] trying to stop a shoplifter who had taken about $1,000 worth of CD/DVDs from KMart. He ended up getting away but I was able to recover about 3/4 of the merchandise (by scooping it out of his car while he was driving away) and I was able to identify him from a photo line-up and testify against him at trial. They made a big deal about it and kept asking me what I would have done if he had a gun or knife or some other weapon. I just told them I would have done what was necessary. I didn't feel the need to tell them that I was carrying.[:D]0 -

I wasn't, but one of our cars was. We had a 66 T-Bird that was used for a TV movie a while back. They need some antique cars as background for a couple street scenes. Paid a couple hundred bucks, as I recall. I think it was on screen for all of 5 seconds or so in about three scenes[:)] 0 -
I have done a lot of news appearances and sometimes animal spots o the weather too. I have also worked several movies and several TV ads as an animal wrangler, with snakes, tarantulas, and so on.
