Exactly! Gas is cheaper compared to wages than it was for my dad during the Depression.[:)]0 -
You are right, but then I was just a really young kid at the time (you could drive at 8 in my state [}:)]). I could fill my dad's tank for $2 or under on date nights. I remember seeing gas at 11.9 during gas wars (that is competition between stations, not when we invade other countries). This was about 1963. 0 -

The price will vary wildly around the country because of the special formulations requred in certain areas.
Adjusted for inflation, $1.70-1.80 per gallon is about where gas ought to be based upon it being $1/gal in 1990 (I remember the gas station next to my house then had it at $0.99 then) with 3.5% annual inflation. With all the termoil in the middle east right now having gas at $1.90/gal (at the station next to where I work) can hardly be considered high.0 -
I went to fill up at my local Chevron station and noticed that the price of premium dropped four whole cents [:0]. It is now $2.75 per gallon [V]. 0
