No easy way to say this...

After fighting valiantly for four years, my mother gave up yesterday morning. She had been a chronic dialysis patient for eight years. For the latter half of that, she was in and out of hospitals for various surgeries. Congestive heart failure, brought on by massive infection is what the doctors say killed her. Tough as any of are, we only have a finite amount of fight in us. I was amazed at the physical stamina and inner strength she showed.

Funny, pouring my Irish heart out to a bunch of imperfect strangers, but this is a funny community we all inhabit here on GunBroker. Just thought you'd like the update. There were quite a few of you who offered prayers and good thoughts when I posted that she had had a particularly close call, and I appreciated it immensely.

I'm going to spend the day at my father's house, learning how to accept, with dignity and grace, that which we cannot change.

    I lost my mother when I was 10 and it was hard to deal with but I have many great memories of her and who she was for me.

    I've lost both of my parents and both of my in laws to circumstances very similar to you mothers. I know the hurt and the loss first hand, and even though pouring you heart out through this medium may seem strange, you have to remember that we are each individuals with heart and families of our own.

    Please accept my humble prayer for you and your family. I pray for peace in your heart for your mothers passing, and for all of the good memories to dominate your mind.

    I think Imperfect Friends might be a better handle, cause while are all different and often disagree, I trust the people right here on this forum with the fate of our nation far more than those over paid and often worthless people in Washington. I think you do your mother an honor being associated with this bunch of misfits. My Prayers to you and your family...
