My first interest has always been guns, and being an old farm boy, my second interest is antique farm equipment, especially International Harvester. I know we have several tractor owners here and I would enjoy seeing pics of your machines. Here's mine a IH 300 Utility.

Me and my then 1yr. old (about to be 3 in a few weeks) on our "old" 1973 JD 1020. We've since sold it, along with our JD 4440, 4250, 4040 and old MF backhoe. Bought a new JD 7210 w/loader (WAY in the background of the pic.) and a New Holland TN65 4X4 with loader and 3-point hoe. Got tired of all the upkeep and expense on 5 different tractors when the two new ones gets the job done just fine for us.
Took this pic just because I have one of me sitting on this same tractor when I was her age, I'm 31 now. Kinda hated to see it go, it was sorta part of the family.[:(]

Here is my grandson and I on my 1951 Ford 8N. I bought this tractor in 1964 with three pieces of equipment for $350.00.

You hear about car thefts all the time, but how 'bout tractor thefts. Seems that in Fabens TX, there has been a rash of tractor thefts. They caught some guy the other day after he stole one and was trying to drive it across the Rio into Mexico. 0 -
I guess because of the terrain, and my particular needs, I've always
had a thing for Kubota. I don't have one, but rent a larger one with
a bucket and blade fairly often.0 -

That was a straight old 1020,Not much for that color of green but I'de a sure been able to appreciate that one.Deisel as well? The 4050 would have been a cool addition as well.We put a 4440 motor in a 4020 gasser with power shift.Made a tractor out of that one.I think I'm gonna have a T-shirt made of that geezer on that Ford with his grandson and have something dispairaging printed on the back and walk around the Tulsa show next year[:D]0 -

There were two tractor thefts that I heard about last year in London Ohio. One of them was a new steiger off of a dealer lot, never heard it they caught anybody or not.
Its not like with would be hard to steal any tractor. Most tractors have 3 or 4 wires going into the key switch. Cut them and see which would needs to be connected, then go by pass solenoid.0 -
I know that all IH tractors are keyed the same. It just enough to keep a honest man honest.
There are some nice tractors here. Sothere, I hope you don't regret selling your 1020 since it's been in your family so long. I know children and grandchildren who would love to have one of their grandparents tractor just because.
I've been collecting parts for my 300 Utility. Someday I want to restore it to the way it came from the factory. Parts are pretty hard to find for the utility tractors for some reason.0 -

Those pictures were great. [:)][:)] I learned to drive on an old John Deere Model A.....The sun came up to find me in the seat of that old tractor and went down with me still sitting there day after day when I didn't have school. Wish I had pictures, but that was before cameras were invented.....[;)][:D][;)]

Nice pics. Reminds me of visiting grandad's old farm in East Texas. His tractor was an old John Deere that had rear metal wheels with large spikes on them. 0 -
....sarge....I had a 300 utility for years, but my exhaust pointed down and under the tractor. Does the TA still work? Seems like that was a weak point on those, MTA's, etc. Mine was stuck in high for the whole time I had it. I gave it a set of sleeves and rings, and one new shift fork, and it gave me about 12 years of good work. 0 -

The Allis B has been sitting in the shop since October. The clutch locked up last summer. So we split the tractor. He had another engine waiting to go in it, so this is the time to put it in. Came from a neighbor out of an old combine. Combines never saw the action tractors do so he's considering it like new.
The steering gear box has been rebuilt and is tight. No play.
The PTO is, I don't know, 1 1/4". Let's say full size, not that little little shaft.
We put a 3 point on it a couple of years ago. Not OEM, but it looks like it was made for the tractor.
And of course there is a Woods 59L deck.
It is a great B. Grandpa bought it on an auction when it was 1 year old. Impulse purchase.0 -

All 300 Utilities came with the exhaust running underneath, but everyone complained it was too hot on the clutch foot, or it would start a fire in the hay field, so alot of farmers just flipped the exhaust manifold over and cut a hole in the hood. As for mine someone got a H Farmall manifold and put it on my tractor to make it go straight up. The TA on mine works but is weak. When I restore it I'll replace it.0 -
Couple of examples of what I used to drive on the farm. Besides a Ford 8N, Ford 5000, small Wagner 4wd, and several in the 100hp and lower...these two were the ones that I spent the most time on.
Picture of a Versatile 1156 (we had a 900 series 2, close..well..not really)
Steiger Cougar - 300 hp. Taller than the Versatile - used to beat your ribs by the armrests on the seat. Was lighter than the Versatile, no chloride in the tires, so, it use to bounce when pulling hard. Engine would end up with a turbo bogging down when loaded down as well. Not a fun tractor to drive, you were ALWAYS doing something.
Last two pics show a couple of Bid Bud's that were built about 100 miles from where I grew up. Very good tractors.0 -

They have always been fair and honest, and tend to specialize in older IHCs and GM vehicles. If they don't have the parts you may need, they'll try to help you find them. Good people.

I bought a small/older AC trackloader for landscaping when building
this house. Did all the landscaping, and after the basement was
poured, I was finishing pushing dirt up, within inches, on the
backside.
It was my final pass at one corner, started backing away, went to stop
and a pin came out of the linkage. Had to stop it by choke down. If
that pin would've came out 5 seconds earlier, I would've tore about
4ft. of so off the coner of the basement.
At that time I was running everything from small to mega-sized frontend
loaders at the mines. Still love running a Bobcat when I get the opp.0
